Hello,
We are currently deploying a fleet of Xerox MFD's across ~100 locations, and we are running into an issue installing the print drivers on some Windows Server 2003 (32bit) boxes. (both the machine specific driver, as well as the Xerox Global print driver)
The print driver installs fine, but no jobs will actually print, and if you try and print a test page, an error "Test page failed to print. Would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance?" comes up instantly.
We have seem to have narrowed the problem down to a missing Windows update, as if we do all available High Priority and Optional updates, it starts to work fine.
Does anybody know specifically which Windows updates are a requirement for the driver? Our 2003 servers were last fully updated about a year ago, and due to time constraints, if we could just install the Windows updates that are needed it would be a big help.
Thank you in advance
Solved! Go to Solution.
When Xerox dropped support for XP, they stopped adding particular files from the driver packs (probably for size reduction) because they were all included by default in every newer OS.
If you install this here on any XP/2003 base machines it will work as normal.
It is best to install that before the driver install, but I have been mostly lucky to have it work fine days later. YMMV
Thank you! We ended up needing to also install KB971276 first, but this worked like a charm!
Wow, that's great to hear. I don't have same problem tough :)
