ok, found the culprint
the issue of word/excel crashing was related to the port issue with new GPD drivers, older ones are device specific drivers dont have the issue
its been escalated to xerox, mid may there will be a new driver

Hey, yes i install always the gpd with version number in it
I try out the advanced printing features next week, not done that yet
I also try to install the driver locally and not with a shared printer to test out if its maybe server related
Thnx for tips
So you have replicated this in English, and it only happens with a server installed driver?
If yes, does it still happen when you disable the windows Advanced Printing feature server-side?
And it also happens with either driver option from this point?
Because I have seen nothing on this issue, and cannot replicate with a local install, and have tried and failed to replicate on Win 7 x86 connected to a Server 2012 x64 with the advanced option disabled (I never have it enabled, which is counter to the defaults, but there have been so many issues in the past resolved by un-checking the box, while causing no ill effect by disabling it, that I no longer even hesitate to remove the "feature")
Due to this being an English only forum, you may be better off looking elsewhere since the issue only appears to occur when using languages from outside of North America.
i have already done some investigagtion, i have found this topic :
on page 3: someone commented :
You can solve this problem by checking your Language setting/Country settings in Windows 7.
This is what is causing the crashes !!
I like to work with "komma," as decimal seperator but my Country and Language was set to English (UK) which uses the opposite...therefor I customised the comma and full stop to the opposite. Crashes all over. Especially when formatting cells...
Now I choose Belgium as country and language but UK as keyboard layout.
Next thing what happened: ALL MY EXCEL FILES are BACK !! NO MORE CRASHES
i have seen this issue also in the past with a verry old xerox global driver, they fixed it in this release :
Xerox00113246 / 5.246.7 /PS/PCL6
Using a Dutch OS, when the regional setting in the driver is Dutch, the XGPD replaces the Comma (,) with period comma (.,). This occurs on CQ920x, CQ930x, WC77xx and WC75xx.
is this issue maybe back? is this causing the crash ?
Hi,
we have a customer where we changed machines
old machines 74xx range
new machines 78xx
installed a new print server 2008r2
clients are windows 7 + office 2010
installed latest GPD global drivers
when we install the driver in the client , make the new printer with new driver default
as soon they print and change scaling options, they receive the error in screenshot below
if we print back on the old 74xx driver/machine , no issue
if we ptint on specific 78xx driver, no issue
as test , we removed on the pc all queues AND driver files, restarted spooler, installed new queue with latest GPD , crash again
applied all hotfixes/sp from office, still same issue
any ideas, any known issue on GPD drivers?
thnx
