Re: WorkCenter 3215 doesn't see or find any Wifi SSID's

Hi Xerox sucks,

Please see my answer to your other post.  Joe's reply was marked as a solution by the original poster.  Their issue was a hardware issue.  It happens.  Please respond to the other post you created.

Thanks,

Wow!  I'm having trouble understanding why the "solution" from Joe053204-xrx is actually marked as a solution.  It seems that Bri_Wess was about to make a warranty claim (i.e., the "solution" didn't work).

I too have problems connecting via Wifi.  Plugging in the USB cable works but the instructions above don't.  I also find that that the "help" in this matter is beyond poor.  The people at the 800 number are happy to take all of my personal information before they tell me that I need to pay them more money for their help.  Huh?  Really?  You should be ashamed of yourselves!!!!   Yea, sure, I won't put xerox.com on my spam list (sarcastic).  Ha!  Do you even have a pulse?  I bought your product and I'd like it to continue to work (it did previously, just not now - don't know why - that's why I'm here).  Yes indeed, my experience indicates that "Xerox sucks" (so it seemed like an appropriate use name)

Am I expected to pay for "support" only to find that the hardware is bad an I too need to make a warranty claim?  (although my product is over 30 days or whatever so there's no warranty).  That's not fair!  For clarity, it's not fair that you want to collect fees and then tell me that my product (possibly) has a hardware problem.  You're disgraceful!!!

Hi Joe, Yes I did connect via Ethernet so that works, but anything with Wifi fails.. Wifi Direct was disabled and I even tried to configure to connect but fail. Does appear to be faulty wireless NIC. Sounds like Warranty claim time.. Thank you so much for the reply and assistance...

The Wireless chip may be bad, try plugging into the wired LAN via the NIC, if you can gain access that way, check to see if WiFi Direct was enabled by mistake.

  • Properties > Network Settings > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi DirectTM. Disable that and click Apply > OK.

Then retry the wifi connection

How To Configure Wireless Connectivity at the Machine Control Panel

Configure Wireless Connectivity at the Machine Control Panel
  1. Press the [Machine Status] button.
  2. Press the Up/Down arrows to select [Network] and press [OK].
  3. If prompted, enter the Administrator Password using the alphanumerical keypad. The default is 1111.
  4. Press the up/down arrows to select [Wi-Fi ] and press [OK]. This allows you to select the Wi-Fi setup. The options are:
    • Wi-Fi On/Off - allows you to turn Wi-Fi On or Off.
    • Wi-Fi Settings - allows you to use a Wizard to find the wireless network name automatically, or use the Custom feature to enter the SSID (Service Set Identifier) information manually.
    • WPS - allows you to select the Wi-Fi Protected Setup - the options are PBC or PIN.
    • Wi-Fi Direct - allows you to enable your wireless devices, such as notebooks, mobile phones and PCs to establish wireless connectivity without the need for a wireless router, access point, or Wi-Fi hot spots.
    • Wi-Fi Signal - allows you view the strength of the wireless connection.
    • Wi-Fi Default - allows you to restore the default wireless settings.
  5. At the Wi-Fi On/Off menu, confirm that On is selected and press [OK].
  6. Press the up/down arrows to select [Wi-Fi Settings] and press [OK]. The options are Wizard or Custom.

Try the custom and just manually input the data as required:

 Using Custom Method

  1. Select [Custom ] to edit the SSID information manually. The SSID screen displays.
  2. Enter the SSID using the keypad and select [OK].
  3. Select the Wi-Fi Security and select [OK].
  4. Select the Encryption and select [OK].
  5. Select the WPA Key and select [OK].
  6. Select [Yes] to apply the changes.

Obviously if none of this does anything try unplugging for 10 minutes and moving it closer to the router. If none of that does anything, file a warranty claim with Xerox since it would likely be a manufacturing defect in the Wireless card.

WorkCenter 3215 doesn't see or find any Wifi SSID's

Jump to solution
Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I've been having trouble with my WOrkCenter 3215 for the past couple months.. Out of the box it was fine, then a couple months ago I had to manaully reconnect (Run the Wizard and choose the SSID and input the key) for each use.. Now it won't find any SSID's. The error on the PANEL is "Not Available" when I run the Panel Wizard, the error I get when I run the Easy Wireless Setup is "No Wireless Networks were found". My PC, Laptop and iPhone are all seeing all my radios fine and strong. Any ideas? Could the NIC be dead on the printer? thanks for any help..
