WorkCentre 3225 duplex printing/copying

I don't understand why you don't have those options on a 3225. You get free service for a year after purchase so you can call it in. 

Per the 3225 User Guide:

It gives me these options: 1-1sided 1-2sided1-2sided rotate. In the printing setting options are: off long side short side.

You select 2 to 2 for double sided copying. You select 2 to 1 for output as you've described

I've had this printer less than a week... I printed a packet that had double sided pages, 1 double sided page printed with characters not letters.  I printed just that page & it printed fine- I needed more copies of that page so I put the paper in the feeder to copy but only it printed 2 pages not double sided.  It is set up to print 2 sided, I've gone thru the menu/setup & made sure that 2 sided was enabled/selected & it still will not print 1 page of the double sided copy, it prints each side of seperate pages.  I so freaking irritated.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
