IIRC I had to disable the bypass tray and set paper source to the bypass tray. Then the printer tries to use the bypass, but prints normally on the paper in the main tray if the bypass is empty. I think it just beeps in error when it does that, but I' not sure.
I remember I had to set those options to something stupid that doesn't make any sense and the selected options definitelly do not reflect what the printer does in reality. Just try all possible combinations and you should find a usable combination :D Unfortunatelly I don't remember what I set it to, but our accountant still has the printer and apart from going though that again when we upgraded to Windows 11, it's been working since. But Xerox should fix their drivers.
Adam, could you find a solution to this problem? I'm experiencing the same issue.
Hi adamjezek,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. I see no one has responded to this post yet. So, at this point I would recommend contacting your local Xerox Support Department to speak with a Product Specialist for more assistance. Please call 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100.
Hello,
I have WorkCentre 3345 and I can't get the bypass tray to work.
I opened the Internet Services and choosed Properties -> Services -> Printing -> General and set Auto tray switching to Enable. Under Properties -> General Setup -> Tray settings, I tried both option (bypass and static) for the bypass tray. I have Windows 10 and I downloaded the drivers from Xerox website. Before printing, I open Printing preferences from Windows dialog and Xerox window opens. Here I choose automatic selection.
Even with all these settings, the printer still doesn't use paper from the bypass tray. I've been playing with the settings for 2 hours now and I still can't get it to work.
How do I set the printer to automatically choose paper from bypass tray if it's present?
