Re: WorkCentre 5019, 5021 & Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Hi...i also faced the same issue.I think it certainly appears as if you have "Print to file" turned on and are simply getting a file in a print-ready format. This would not be the driver, but the application level causing the issue in that case.

Re: WorkCentre 5019, 5021 & Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Xerox doesn't do email support, they do phone support, and the 2nd level support is only available with a maintenance agreement.

But since it appears you have issues with Microsoft Windows you would need to talk to them.

Re: WorkCentre 5019, 5021 & Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Hey Joe053204-xrx, I followed your advice and ordered Xerox WorkCentre 5019/5021 Network Kit 497K13770 for $200. All the Windows 10 computers are printing fine when connected to this printer via Wi-Fi (the LAN cable of WorkCentre 5019 is connected to my Wi-Fi router; IP reservation for WorkCentre 5019 is configured to particular static IP in router's DHCP server settings; printer is installed in Windows using static IP address; I can access printer configuration web interface using that IP address via Google Chrome). However both Windows 10 and Windows 7 computers cannot see WC5019 online after computer reboot. I have to reinstall printer to get it back online. I have found an article (1 & 2) suggesting to turn off SNMP status for printer port.This has helped. What I did (for Google users) to fix this: turned off SNMP Status Enabled in printer's port (TCP/IP) settings as described in first link. I also had to turn off SNMP protocol in printer itself using web interface. And third thing I did was adding two keys (DWORD & QWORD) named "SNMPLegacy" to Windows Registry (using Registry Editor, regedit.exe or REG file):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print]
"SNMPLegacy"=dword:00000001
"SNMPLegacy"=qword:00000001

I did Registry Editor thing both on Windows 7 & 10 computers, the Windows XP computer was fine after two first steps (SNMP management using printer settings).

I haven't found any fix for USB issue bescribed above. It also happens to our HP plotter (USB001 file in Documetns instead of printed hardcopy). So this might be something related to Windows settings but not drivers (as I thought earlier). Is there any special support e-mail I can write to to get some assistance?

Re: WorkCentre 5019, 5021 & Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Sadly I can't go any further, I can print easily enough, but I have to do so via network, purely because the device (5019/5021) isn't apparently sold in North America (I'm in east coast Canada), I can't even find it on Xerox.com unless I set the country to India, I did send a job to a 5019 overseas from me, and confirmed the print came out, but obviously I can't do USB that far ;-) . I have no idea what the one I printed to is hooked up on though, Windows PC of some sort and shared out on the Xerox LAN. Might be worth look into in your case.

Might be time to network that printer

Re: WorkCentre 5019, 5021 & Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Thanks for your post, Joe053204-xrx!

PC indeed is MacBook Pro with Windows 10 via Boot Camp (native boot, no virtual machines, macOS partition removed). Nevermind the "outdated" date, this is correct (time sync couldn't be completed because of no Internet connection at the moment). Count it as a typical PC situation.

I know "Print to file" is found inside print dialog, not driver. And I don't have it checked (you can use Notepad's print dialog as a less complicated example (wet **bleep** will have to go though)). Even when I try to print out a test page from piter driver dialog the wild no-extension file will appear in My Documents.

I'm 100% certain device uses USB001 printer port. Computer has 3 USB-related printer ports: USB001 (Virtual printer port for USB), USB001 (Local port), USB002 (Local port). Both USB001 ports are set to WorkCentre 5019. I've tried USB002 with same result.

Yep I believe there's something wrong - that's why I'm asking for help. I've set up literally tens of Windows XP and Windows 7 PCs with this device with no issues. And now I have absolutely no clue what's wrong.

The only related result I got from Google is this, but it doesn't seem to be relevant enough to solve the problem (and makes no sense since my WC 5019 is already set as default printer).

If WC 5019 isn't connected (offile) the job will be displayed in queue dialog as waiting for printer. Once I connect WC 5019 the queued job will disappear from queue like if it was sent to printer. However only no-extension file is created with no actual hardcopy.

Re: WorkCentre 5019, 5021 & Windows 10 Anniversary Update

"Print to file" would be in the app, not the driver. Acrobat/Reader puts it in Advanced, ala:

But there is something very wrong with how you are setting this stuff up, the header of your print file is this:

%-12345X@PJL JOB MODE=PRINTER
@PJL SET STRINGCODESET=UTF8
@PJL COMMENT DATE=11/01/2016
@PJL COMMENT TIME=01:00:00
@PJL COMMENT DNAME=Test Page
@PJL SET JOBATTR="@LUNA=Ilya"
@PJL SET COPIES=1
@PJL SET QTY=1
@PJL SET DUPLEX=OFF
@PJL SET BINDING=LONGEDGE
@PJL SET JOBATTR="@SPSE=OFF"
@PJL SET RENDERMODE=GRAYSCALE
@PJL SET ECONOMODE=OFF
@PJL SET JOBATTR="@HOAD=IC0A80084"
@PJL SET JOBATTR="@CNAM=MACBOOK-PRO"
@PJL SET PAPERDIRECTION=LEF
@PJL SET JOBATTR="@FDRT=OFF"
@PJL SET RESOLUTION=600
@PJL SET BITSPERPIXEL=1
@PJL SET JOBATTR="@DRDM=RASTER"
@PJL SET JOBATTR="@TSCR=1"
@PJL SET JOBATTR="@GSCR=1"
@PJL SET JOBATTR="@ISCR=1"
@PJL ENTER LANGUAGE=HBPL

Is this running within Paralels on a Macbook?

Are you 100% certain it is using a USB port and not a File port?

The job itself does not appear corrupt, it just appears to not be going to USB, and is instead printed to file, for instance, I used a File port on mine and this is the header in comparison to yours.

Re: WorkCentre 5019, 5021 & Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Hello, Joe053204-xrx! I'm attaching a fresh "weird USB001 file" via this link. Please have a look. File appears in My Documents every time I attempt to print.

I've checked that file using http://www.checkfiletype.com/ and it returned:

File Type: HP Printer Job Language data
- HP Printer Job Language data JOB MODE=PRINTER
MIME Type: application/octet-stream
Suggested file extension(s): bin dms lha lzh exe class so dll img iso

I double-checked if I have "Print to file" checked in printing preferences - nope.

Can you attach one of those "weird files" here on the forum? It certainly appears as if you have "Print to file" turned on and are simply getting a file in a print-ready format. This would not be the driver, but the application level causing the issue in that case.

Re: WorkCentre 5019, 5021 & Windows 10 Anniversary Update

I have tried removing & chaning drivers to 2.6.5.0 WHQL-certified – no luck. Same sympthoms. Maybe I should use some different driver? Maybe I should enable some special system service (with services.msc or Registry Editor)?

Please help!

WorkCentre 5019, 5021 & Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hello,

Can somebody confirm WorkCentre 5019/5021 is compatible with Windows 10 (Anniversary Update) when it comes to printing?

I've installed device manually using USB & 2.6.7.0 (non-WHQL) driver from official support page at http://www.support.xerox.com/support/workcentre-5019-5021/downloads/enin.html?operatingSystem=win10x.... The scan feature works fine. Device properties inside Control Panel report no issues ("Device is working correctly"). Device is recognised in Control Panel as I turn it on (icon changes state from faded one to full color).

However when I hit "Print" inside any program nothing happens. No errors, no sounds from device. Nothing. Only a weird file appears in My Documents folder - USB001 (no extension and weird symbols if opened in Notepad). The other thing is I cannot read printer status from it's properties inside Control Panel: it says PC cannot find printer and suggests inputting printer's network address manually.

Device is working fine from a Windows 7 laptop I borrowed, same drivers mentioned above. I've got a bad feeling about those drivers from 2013 just being outdated for Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Please help ASAP because it's a huge issue and I'll have to re-do an awful LOT of engineering CAD work if there's no way to print using WorkCentre 5019/5021 & Windows 10. Maybe there's a different driver I should use? I'm going to try 2.6.5.0 WHQL-certified driver tomorrow.

Help!
