You can't begin to fix it without admin access, nobody can.
So if user = admin and password = 1111 has been changed and no longer gives you admin rights, then you would need to find out what the default admin rights were changed to, and if you can't get them, the machine would need to be wiped back to factory defaults so that you would go back to the known admin rights.
When I hit "Access A" and put in the default password of 1111, there is no tools menu.
When you say "I" can't fix it are you saying It can't be fixed or just that I can't?
I've tried option Configure a USB Printer Port From the Control Panel only there is no [tools pathway] option in the menu.
If you are logged in as an admin (steps 1-5 of the linked) and don't have a tools menu, then there is pretty much no chance you can fix anything.
I'm trying to setup my WorkCentre 5665 for local printing via USB.
I've tried option Configure a USB Printer Port From the Control Panel only there is no [tools pathway] option in the menu.
The only port that shows up in the Window Devices list is the Xerox Service Port (Xerox WorkCentre 5632-5687 Service Port) when connected through the traditional female usb port. I haven't tried the male USB out over on the right yet. I do not have fax or firewire cards nor the network lan controller. The ports in the pictures is what you see is what I've got.
There are several ports on the back of my WorkCentre. Photo's attatched.
My quest for support has shown that Xerox is a very closed, proprietary product line but I just want to be able to print from my computer without a $375 per half hour service call.
Any help would be appreciated to get this to connect as a local printer/scanner.
If this isn't configured with the necessary items to be a printer, could someone suggest what may be needed to be added to this WorkCentre to be a printer/scanner before I contact Xerox service. (IE. An optional interface card is needed that allows direct host-based printing over USB target. ) I will be setting up an account for consummable management as this unit has low counter numbers and is usable.
