Re: WorkCentre 6027 Cartridge Density Error

Thank you for the links and info!  For enabling the firmware upgrade, you mentioned you only have a few seconds to do that, before the panel gets blocked by the error message.  How did you get around the error message?  I've tried rebooting several times and I keep pressing the menu button and it won't go into the control panel.  It says it's calibrating and goes right back to the error message.

Thanks in advance!

Re: WorkCentre 6027 Cartridge Density Error

Update as of 1/29/19:

After my first post, I called Xerox support and they were very helpful.  They sent me black and yellow replacement cartridges and they worked great.  I replaced the magenta and cyan myself eventually when they ran out.  The printer has worked perfectly ever since.  The black toner cartridge was supposed to last 2000 pages, however, and it just recently ran out after printing about 1140 pages.  Tech support told me that is a reasonable amount to get out of a black toner, as it's meant to print 2000 pages with 5% coverage (I guess that means amount of ink compared to white space per page).

Overall, I'm happy with this printer now.  It just goes through toner very quickly and it's very expensive.  I would imagine that ALL similar small color laser jet printers go through toner just as fast.  Still better than an inkjet any day!!

Re: WorkCentre 6027 Cartridge Density Error

Wow. I have had this printer less than 1 day (purchased from Staples). I used it to print out some papers for my taxes (about 50 pages, low density text, a little bit of colour). Suddenly I got the low density black cartridge error. I tried to remove and re-set asreccomended, but no change. So then I tried to update the firmware and it went from a "low denisty" error to "no black cartridge installed" (which obviously it is.) Again, I have tried to remove and reset, nothing has changed. Unfortunetly I have a printer that is only hours old that no longer works. This is too bad because the first set of prints seemed to have great quality and the interface is really nice.  There is no way I am buying test cartridges or hanging onto this thing, back to Staples it goes tomorrow. This is my first Xerox printer, but zero star rating for this product.

Re: WorkCentre 6027 Cartridge Density Error

This printer is J-U-N-K! It is too bad because I literally bought it because I was fed up with “inferior” brands and thought “If I get a Xerox all my problems will be solved.” NOT.

First, setting it up was a nightmare - with a Mac! That shouldn’t be happening, ever, but it did. Got the problems solved with 2hours of customer support and being passed around like a cheap bottle at a beach party.

Now on this low toner density message comes on after having spent $250 on new toners cartridges! You can’t get rid of these messages- EVER! There is no reasonable cure for this issue.

i will never knowingly buy another Xerox product.

I wonder if you got this fixed and if so, how?  I have the same problem.  Biggest piece of junk printer I have ever owned!  World's worst support, too.

there is no enough toner going through the dispenser system..

Re: WorkCentre 6027 Cartridge Density Error

I've had this printer for maybe 2 weeks now.  It has been working fabulously.  We've printed only maybe 40 pages on it so far-- maybe 6 with color on them, with no issues.  Today, after printing several black ink jobs as usual, I got the 093-919 low density yellow error.  After reading here, I immediately did the firmware update.  Now, it says out of black and yellow toner.

I am very concerned that if I buy new toner, I will get the same messages again and it will never work properly again!!

Does anyone know how many pages the starter toner cartridges should print?
