Re: WorkCentre 6027 macOS Catalina drivers needed!

Perhaps you can provide the link to download the driver as the Xerox support site does not list any drivers for Mac Catalina

That doesnt work as the scanner cant log on to the shared folder's IP address

Printing works fine - its the scannning function that is bricked.

New devices can simply be connected and configured with the IP address of the old printer (the alternative to this is port redirection). The Global Print driver recognizes the device and updates the user settings automatically. An adjustment or new installation is not necessary.

Re: WorkCentre 6027 macOS Catalina drivers needed!

While I agree Xerox could update there firmware and drivers a little faster, you must be having another issue. I am currently running Catalina 10.15.2 on a iMac Pro, and on a MacBook Pro and having no issues printing or scanning with my Xerox WorkCentre 6027. I have the latest firmware (version 02.00.02.30.3836) installed on the printer and driver version (1.0468) installed on the macs that Xerox offers. We are also printing just fine to the Xerox from our iPads and iPhones running iOS 13.3. I am not using AirPrint as the drivers. Hopefully you just need to update one of the above two things for it to work.

This is the last time I buy a Xerox product. This is ridiculous.

Re: WorkCentre 6027 macOS Catalina drivers needed!

Hi Adam,

Thank you for using the Support Forum.

As you can see from our Compatibility Matrix Xerox will not be releasing Catalina drivers for the WC 6027. However, you can still add the printer on macOS using the built-in “Generic Postscript PPD”.

If Xerox driver features are really needed, you could try an unsupported work-around in which you install the Xerox macOS Common Print Driver from a closely related product which is supported on Catalina.  Note that there may be incompatibilities that could cause not all feature/function to work properly. You can try the WorkCentre 6400. Please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Thanks,

WorkCentre 6027 macOS Catalina drivers needed!

Product Name: WorkCentre 6027
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

I bought a Xerox® WorkCentre 6027 and it functioned brilliantly, until I upgraded to the latest macOS, Catalina. Now it no longer functions. This is unnacceptable for a printer Xerox currently sells and advertises as macOS compatible. I have tried the following work-arounds…

  1. Set it up as an Airprint printer.
Result: missing some fetures, and terrible image printing quality, mediocre colour quality.
  2. Set it up as a Generic Postscript Printer.
Result: missing many integral features, ok image quality, terrible colour qualty.

Neither option meets even half of the quality and quantity of functinality the printer previously had, making my $300 printer akin to a dispoable $50 printer.

If anyone has any workarounds to restore postscript qulity printing with full colour management and support for media types, please let me know!!!

In the meantime, Xerox, when is this going to be remedied? Never is not an acceptable answer, unless you want to see your name relentlessly tarnished by professionals who used to rely on your producrts, and you want to deal with an inordinate amount of credit card chargebacks for failing to deliver a product as advertised.
