Re: WorkCentre 6605 Slow Processing PDF

Unfortunately the Image Compression settings didn't resolve this issue. Perhaps there's some other options that might? Is there a way to configure the WC6605 to operate more as a page printer rather than a document printer?

Re: WorkCentre 6605 Slow Processing PDF

yes, i have also seen that issue on the 6605, tried various settings

what helps, if you print, open xerox print preferences, advaced tab, wit the newer global drivers, there is a setting, image compression

try those settings, and it will improve the print speed

WorkCentre 6605 Slow Processing PDF

Product Name: WorkCentre 6605

Spooling/Printing PDF files are considerably slower on the Xerox WC6605 than the HP & Brother model printers we replaced. The print job spools slowly, once the document begins printing it takes roughly 3-5 seconds sometimes longer between printing each page. This issue exists only when printing PDF’s, all other jobs are processed accordingly.

Xerox Device-

Model: WC6605

Workstation Environment-

OS: Windows 7 64-Bit

Device/Driver Replaced: HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225-M226 PCL 6

Drivers - (List of drivers tested with recommended configuration)

Recommended Configuration- (List of settings recommended by Xerox Support)

Driver Settings:

  • Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster.
  • Start printing immediately.
  • Print spooled documents first.
  • Advanced printing features Disabled.
  • LPR Protocol versus RAW w/ LPR Byte Counting Disabled.

Software Settings (Adobe Reader):

  • Let printer determine colors.
  • Print as image.

The “Recommended Configuration” has been tested on the above list of Drivers via Network & USB connection to the device, the changes made appear to have minimal effect on the overall performance. A combination of Driver & Software settings not listed in the “Recommended Configuration” have also been tested however the performance further declined.

It seems I've tried just about everything to resolve this, Are there any suggestions or perhaps something I'm missing here? Thanks!
