Re: WorkCentre 7328 and Mountain Lion 10.9.4

Hi, nddcreative!

Can you possibly try with another computer and see if it's something with the laptop?

I do believe that you'll need to reset the printing system on ur mac.

Follow these two links : HERE & HERE.

Afterwards try adding the printer again, with the newest driver.

If that does not work it could be your network setup.

Best Regards

Kimzi

Trying to connect the Workcentre 7328 to my laptop. Have the ethernet plugged in downloaded the most recent Xerox printer software, changed the IP address on the printer as instructed in manual and followed the instruction in a previously posted message by another subscriber. Tried to print from my laptop but the printing que keeps moving and says  "The printer is in use"

Heya!

You will need to remove everything like I said, and start all over.

Right click and choose "Remove", also if thats not fixing the problem you will need to remove the files manually in the printer library. (finder -> library -> printers)

You have to be logged in as root for this, or have root access in the finder.

Thanks!

Hi!
I donwnloaded and installed the Xerox Print Drivers (2.71.0), I have added the printer exactly how you told me and I have chosen the xrwp7328.ppd file in the dropdown menu but I get an error on by adding the printer...

"Parts of the software for the printer are missing. Install the printer software to print successfully."

I don't know what to do, now if I try to install the drive again it tells me that I have a newer version installed... :(

Heya!

You have probably chosen the built-in driver on the mac.

Follow this, wrote a guide because its a frequent asked question :)

When you've installed a printer using the generic drivers you will need to remove the printer and start all over again, do not just add the same printer again.

1. Remove the printer queue on the MAC by right-clicking in the printer queue and selecting remove.

3. Download the printer driver

Run the file and follow the installation instructions.

4. Choose System Preferences -> Print and Fax.

5. Click on "Add other" printer

6. Choose “IP Printer” on the top tabs.

7. Afterwards you choose LPD/LPR from the drop-down menu.

8. Write in the IP address in “Printer Address”.

9. Double check that the queue name is empty or enter "LP".

10. Choose the correct driver/PPD file from the bottom drop-down menu.

11. Press on the “Add” button.

Hope it works

Thanks!

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hello!

I am trying to print from my mac (10.8.2) but it just won't work... I have donwloaded the latest printer driver 2.71.0 for the WorkCentre 7328 and installed it successfully.

But if I want to print something from my computer it won't work.

What do I have to do to print something from my computer?
