Re: WorkCentre 7545 Slow Printing Speeds

I find the "Enable Advance Printing Features" check box is checked and dimmed.  How do I unselect this option?

Machine running Windows Pro 10, 64 bit

Re: WorkCentre 7545 Slow Printing Speeds

Then the only fix would be to remove and reinstall the driver, Some drivers are slow using default settings, some Windows updates can cause slowness as well to the printer that is set as the default, but I have this machine installed on many devices and a fresh install using the exact settings I have posted here is not one of them,

Re: WorkCentre 7545 Slow Printing Speeds

Advanced printing features is turned off.  Is this the same as SNMP?Lpr byte counting?  If not, I can't find SNMP/Lpr byte counting.

Printing times seem about the same from the server and from client machines though its hard to tell.  With just one document printing at a time they are very similar.

I'm pretty sure all my machines are 64 bit.

Re: WorkCentre 7545 Slow Printing Speeds

That would depend on whether you also disabled SNMP/Lpr byte counting, advanced printing features.

It would also depend on if the server is slow or just the client through the server is slow.

It would also depend on if it is cross architecture (32 bit server and 64 bit client or vice versa)

Re: WorkCentre 7545 Slow Printing Speeds

My 7545 has slowed down dramatically recently.  I changed from RAW to LP as you described above on the server but it's still very slow.  Any other suggestions?

Re: WorkCentre 7545 Slow Printing Speeds

The driver isn't at fault, the port is. (driver for Win10 is identical to Windows 7)

The port on the other hand can be very different, and if you did an automatic install of the driver without a full manual port creation, then Windows 10 will convert it to a WSD port. These are notoriously slow at this time.

So go into Control Panel > Devices and printers

right-click the driver and go to Printer Properties > Ports

If it is a Standard TCP/IP port, select Configure Port

Make sure LPR is selected, the queue name is lp and neither the SNMP or LPR Byte counting boxes are checked.

Apply all the settings there and go to the Advanced tab and make sure Enable Advanced Printing Features is NOT checked

Apply > OK

Print should now be the same as the other PC's.

If it was using a WSD port, just replace the Configure Port step above with Add Port, complete the wizard and make sure all the above steps are put into the wizard.

I will repeat, a new driver is not going to fix the slowness, the driver has no relation to the data transfer to the printer.

WorkCentre 7545 Slow Printing Speeds

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

We have a networked 7545 in our office that multiple users network print to from their computers.  Two users have reported that their print speeds are longer than normal--from sending the print job to printing begins may take as long as a minute.  I believe I've narrowed it down to both clients being Windows 10, because others clients not experiencing the delays are still Windows 7.  Both Win 10 machines are using the most recent Windows 8 drivers for the 7545?  Does any one have suggestions about how to address this issue or is it something we might have to live with until new drivers are released.  Any help would be appreciated!
