Re: WorkCentre 7545 and "Revocation information for the security certificate"

The message is caused by the drivers job notifications. (Little popup that tells you the job printed or failed)

The notification comes from the printer and it is rendered in HTML.

The problem here is that the machines are running an invalid SSL certificate, very few people actually payt to have a signed certificate for a printer.

The easiest solution is to just disable the job notifications in the driver itself.

Start > Devices and Printers

Right-click and go to Printer Properties > Administration

Just change the dropdown circled to Disabled and click Apply > OK

Capture.GIF

That will be problem solved for most users.

Other options are to disable HTTPs on the printer or pay for a valid and signed certificate.

Hi toddstg,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please take a look at the solutions for the certificate error.  If these do not help try searching the support page for your machine for other solutions related to security certificate.  If this does not help please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Re: WorkCentre 7545 and "Revocation information for the security certificate"

Am having the same problem.

Upgraded the 7545 firmware, configured SMB scanning (had to enable HTTP) and now we all get the security message.  I've tried installing the certificate but doesn't seem to be helping.  I am not an IT guy but I can follow directions.

Help please?

Re: WorkCentre 7545 and "Revocation information for the security certificate"

I am also having this issue on all 75xx printers for which I have enabled HTTPS.

Unfortunately, pushing the certificate on a per client basis isn't practical. I tried pushing it by GPO, but it (clients not getting the certificate message) only works for the one printer I took the certificate from. I thought "generic" meant that it would work for all printers.

Must I push each printer's certificate to all my clients for this to work?

Or do I need to approach this issue differently altogether?

Re: WorkCentre 7545 and "Revocation information for the security certificate"

Has this issue been resolved yet? I'm getting this across my 7545s and 9300s. My 8900s don't seem to have this problem though.

Re: WorkCentre 7545 and "Revocation information for the security certificate"

Hi,

To get the link you need to go to Properties -> Security -> Certificates. You will see the massage that I copy to my post.

About the second part. Yes, it is the same issue. This happens after printing from any application. This only happens in a very special and rare situation. Can be related with the certificated /security structure defined at your IT environment.

Our support team had the same problem only in one customer, and was solved more a less this way by the IT guys from our customer.

Regards

Rui

Re: WorkCentre 7545 and "Revocation information for the security certificate"

Rui, thank you for your prompt reply, but I have 2 problems.  (1) The link you provided to download the certificate does not work.  (2) After getting the proper link I'll certainly try it but this message that our clients receive also happens after printing from applications other than web browsers, like Adobe Reader, etc.  But, again, I will try downloading and following your instructions after I receive the link from you.

Re: WorkCentre 7545 and "Revocation information for the security certificate"

Hi,

Try this:

If client browsers are receiving security related warning/error messages when accessing the Xerox device's web interface, the following trusted CA certificate should be downloaded and installed into the client browser's Trusted Certificates Store location
Download the Generic Xerox Trusted CA Certificate
This trusted CA certificate should be downloaded and installed into client device browsers only. It should not be installed into the Xerox device.

This message is in Properties -> Security -> Certificates. The above link is there.
The certificate need to be loaded on the Trusted Root at CA.

Or when you create a certificate for the printer, use one from your CA and not the one created by the printer.

Rui

WorkCentre 7545 and "Revocation information for the security certificate"

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

We have a Work Centre 7545 network MFP.  Following a print, our users occasionally receive a message that reads "Revocation information for the security certificate for this site is not available. Do you want to proceed?"  Then, there are three buttons to click on: Yes, No, View Certificate.  It doesn't seem to matter what we select because (a) the job will print anyway, and (b) the message appears later.

This never happened on our network until installing the 7545.

Anyone know what to do?
