The printing is becoming faint. There is seventy percent of the toner left in the printer cartridge according to the Easy Printer Manager.
I have taken the cartridge out, shaken it vigorously and replaced it carefully and firmly. I have done this several times.
I would appreciate any guidance you may have about this matter.
Thanks.
Drum would be the most likely failure if its universally faded everywhere.
Print a config sheet though, if that is faded, the issue is indeed in hardware, if the config sheet is fine, the application/driver is at issue.
Hello Joe,
Thanks for taking the time to reply to my message.
I have printed a configuration sheet and it looks faded in several places.
I would be grateful for any advice you may have for me about what to do about this.
My printer is registered with Xerox and less than a year old.
Thanks,
Andrew M.
Since it is faded on everything the issue will lie in hardware, Drum is the likely culprit.
If you are nowhere near 10,000 impressions I don't know what to say, possibly it has had some hvywght paper run through it while not being set as such and damaged it.
Of course I could be wrong, I am guessing over the internet here.
Hello Joe,
Thanks for your message.
I should be back in touch to let you know the outcome before too long.
Thanks,
Andrew Middleton
I am having exactly the same issue. My (genuine) toner is at 70% so I assumed the issue was the drum. I therefore bought a new drum but it made no difference. I have since printed a Supplies Information page and my original drum is still at 62%.
What could the problem be?
