in response to:
/usr/bin/lpq: Error - unknown destination "/tmp"!
................ERROR: No such file or directory
I just had the same problem on ubuntu 10.04.
I found that the installer was looking in /usr/bin for both gzip and uncompress. Mine live in /bin so I had to create two simlinks to sort it out.
ie:
ln -s /bin/gzip /usr/bin/gzip
ln -s /bin/uncompress /usr/bin/uncompress
and then it worked.
You should find a setup.log in the temp_dir that may help out if that's not the problem.
It would be nice if the installer could 'which gzip' or something to avoid such a trivial break. 1 hr wasted.
good luck.
I am trying to install the Linux driver for the Xerox WorkCentre 4250 on a Toshiba Satellite A215 S4697 running Linux Mint 9 Isadora. I download the XeroxLinuxi686xpxx_4.30.28.tar package, untar it, cd into the directory, run
sudo ./setup
and I get the error message
/usr/bin/lpq: Error - unknown destination "/tmp"!
................ERROR: No such file or directory
and the installer crashes. (There does appear to be a /tmp directory on my system.) Can anyone help?
Hello
I cant load the ppd file xr_WorkCentre4250.ppd whitout any modification in cups. the ppd file syntax is wrong
the cups log is:
E [30/Mar/2011:14:59:09 -0500] PPD file for WC4250 cannot be loaded!E [30/Mar/2011:14:59:09 -0500] Missing option keyword on line 30.
Hi,
I would like to assure you that I have done this with this specific printer before and that a already done ppd but I don´t, therefore you will have to test a bit an see if this works. The idea is:
This should allow you to print with a specific accounting code.
how i must edit the ppd file??
the centreware is not function correctly it is not able to create the queue
That is correct. To use XSAcc you would have to edit the ppd with the accounting credentials already on it. Which means you would have to install 1 PPD per user.
In this case, Maybe the best way will be to use CentreWare for Unix like you were.
i have cups intalled, but teh xerorx standar account dont have a interface for a user
Hello,
have you considered using CUPS? or it is not does not respond to you needs?
