I've cleaned the lenses, powered on and off. Still will not print. I only have 11,365 total impressions, and it is not telling me to replace fuser or imaging unit, but is this what I need to do? Thanks in advance for any input.
Something bad happened to that machine, improper storage, power surge, something.
The imagine unit might be bad, the fuser is absolutely not working, either because the fuser is dead, or because the power to it is failing
Odd. This happened as I was printing several files - which almost all printed fine. The first page to misprint was a full page of (fused) black. Then another full black (that started feeling grainy), then it lightened up to this grey smudge.
Then it is likely just the fuser, but every unfused page is coating the rollers after the fuser, which will keep getting worse.
So your best bet is to replace the fuser, hope it was a failure in the fuser and not something that powers it up, and then run quite a few blank sheets through it to clean up the rollers.
