None of the drivers that Rui and John pointed me too support the x64 applications on 10.6.6.
Having said that, I have tried both drivers on x32 applications with the same result as before.
In the mean time I got IT to add my user id on the printer so I can print in colour.
I still believe that the driver is not sending the right information.
Going forward I will use the universal driver that Fabio advised me to use. I know that is for 74xx printers but at least it supports the x64 applications so I can change the settings when I need to.

Hi,
To add, in case of doubts here is a quick overview of what I manage to test just now...
Here is the driver I used.. I believe it´s diferent version from what you used so far. Make sure to remove and delete the previous driver.
You will notice tieronecolour is allowed to print B&W but if I lock printing it will give an error. Similar behaviour then tierone.
I have noticed another behaviour. In case of pdf files ... actually in case you are using Adobe Reader/Acrobat you will notice that if you do not click on the Printer tab below on the Adobe print wizard acc prompt wil not come up therefore no accounting details are sent, therefore you get an error.
I suppose if you set the account not to prompt but to saved on the plugin then it would work ok.
Rgds,
Hello Ion,
I see that the driver you downloaded is for a different printer. Have you tried the driver that is specifically for your WC 7232? It is a Mac OS X Universal Binary Print Driver.
I really hope that this works!
John
I have loaded the driver from here:
The version for this driver is 2.13.0 (540).
With this driver I don't have any issues with the x64 applications.
The accounting option shows on the Print dialog under Xerox features/Advanced/Accounting (see picture below).
The way I use it is to send the user id only, no prompt and define the default user id and password.
I have saved this as a preset so the values come up again the next time I print regardless which application I choose.
I have attached a screen shot of my print settings, hopefully it helps.
Thanks for your help. If you need more information just let me know and I'll forward it to you.

Hello imoraru,
Several points were made before on you statements but in order to try giving some input I need some info. Regardless what was done so far.
Normally if you have something like "Accounting" this means that the plugins do not support x64 applications, which is the SnowLeopard case. For some applications you have an good workaround which is to run the application in 32bit mode. You can achieve it by going into the application, right-click, Show Info > tick the 32bit Mode box. Open the application and you should have the accounting option.
Next you need to decide look at 2 things:
Sorry for the long post. But there are several options that you can play with in this case.
I called but unfortunately that didn't work for me. I would have to pay $375.00 per half hour to report a problem with their driver. That's ridiculous.
The only think I can think of is to post to the accounting forum maybe somebody has a better idea.

Hi imoraru,
The only other suggestion that I have is to check your password again to make sure it hasn't changed somehow. If you are sure that your machine has the latest software and firmware versions then a phone call to Xerox Customer Technical Support at 1.800.821.2797 and ask to speak to someone at second level support for application support is just about all I can think of.

Any news on this issue?
Ion
John, thanks for your help.
Unfortunately I could not make it work even after reviewing your instructions and trying again.
Being on a mac this translates to the following:
1. From the application (Safari for example) I choose print.
2. In the Print window I would choose 'Xerox Features'
3. In the drop down underneath I would choose 'Advanced'
4. I would select the accounting button underneath. This brings up the accounting window.
5. I would set accounting system to 'Send User ID only'.
6. I would set Accounting prompt to 'Do not prompt'.
7. I would set the default user id to "tieronecolour"
8. enter the password in the password filed.
9. click ok
10. click print.

I have copied the setup instructions for accounting in hopes that you might double check for the smallest of errors in your system. It might turn out to be something very simple! (There are two methods below: one for PostScript and the other for PCL.)
To set up the PostScript driver when using Auditron or Xerox Standard Accounting:
To set up the PCL driver when using Auditron or Xerox Standard Accounting:
I hope this resolves the issue, but if not, I'm trying to find an expert with the accounting feature to help us!
