Sadly the subcontracting company is correct, you need a Xerox tech to fix it now.

I am having issues with black toner cartridge not resetting after installing.
I started with trying to change out just the chip. Then purchased new cartridge. Nothing I have tried will reset.
Have called local subcontractor that is Xerox recommended. They could not help. They seem to think that I have installed the wrong cartridge and have confused the internal computer.
Service technician says that they make 3 different cartridges for this unit. One metered version. He tells me that by inserting the one that does not match the others: cyan, magenta, yellow; that it has confused the machine and needs to be reset by a more qualified technician from the Xerox company. The subcontracting company has now passed on the repair and my only options is to now pay Xerox for them to send a technician that has more knowledge.
