Re: Workcentre 7855 default paper size for large prints

That's disappointing.  It's weird, because it doesn't seem to have an issue scaling a 22x34 to 12x19 when this happens.  Or at least I assume so, we don't actually have any 12x19 to test it.  I should track some down just to test if it's actually scaling it or if it's just doing that in lieu of a real error message.

I'll keep looking, hopefully there's something out there.  Thanks for the help anyway!

Re: Workcentre 7855 default paper size for large prints

There is no way to do that in any driver or firmware for any device by Xerox (That I know of), not sure on other manufacturers.

Since EFI / CREO / FREEFLOW / DocuSP and Splash don't do it either (All the big guys in printer DFE Rips) I would assume it isn't easy to implement. probably due to the fact it may not scale correctly since the aspect ratio is completely different on the stocks in question.

Workcentre 7855 default paper size for large prints

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Is there any way to change the go-to print size for print sizes larger than what the Workcentre 7855 can handle?  Right now, when we try to print something that's bigger than the max size of 12x19, it will scale it down to that size and try to print.  Only, since we don't have that kind of paper loaded, it hangs at "Required Resources".

90% of the time, this isn't too bad, we just go up to the printer, select it in the job queue and choose "Print on Alternate Size Paper".  Annoying, but doable.  The problem is that when it's an oversized page mixed in with a bunch of recognized page sizes, the print will get half-way through the job, then gives a "Required Resources" error message and hard stops when it reaches the oversized page.  The alternate paper option does not show up, and you now need to resend the print job, making sure to skip any oversized pages.

Since it's already scaling it to 12x19, it shouldn't be an issue to scale it to a size slightly smaller.  We have 11x17 paper loaded into the printer, anytime somene prints something large they intend for it to go to this print size.  Is there any way to change the default for oversized pages to instead print on the largest paper size loaded?
