Re: XML Print Driver Configuration Tool - settings not deployed to clients

Guess why I tried to find a solution via this forum?

I was asking for help here in Germany weeks ago, no response so far.

It's seems to be same combination as with CWW: Lousy documentation combined with disabled support.

Re: XML Print Driver Configuration Tool - settings not deployed to clients

Hello Markus M.,

I see no one has responded to this post yet. So, at this point I would recommend contacting your local Xerox Support Department to speak with a Product Specialist for more assistance. Please call 1-800-821-2797.

Thanks,

XML Print Driver Configuration Tool - settings not deployed to clients

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

While preparing a GPD Update (current: 5.703.12.0; expected: 5.759.5.0) and using updated GPD XML Tool (V 3.7.72.0) for configuration, I have discovered that settings are not applied to clients (W10x64 Build 1909)

With this updated GPD XML tool it is possible to apply settings to a Printer-Queue rather than to a specific printer model. I have created a ruleset for one of the existing printer queues, changed the GPD to the updated version on print server side. The ruleset is applying the changed configuration to the printer queue as expected.

However, the point 'n print connection on a W10 client is updating the printer driver to the new version, but not the settings from that specific ruleset. The configuration remain the same as from the old XML configuration.

Even deleting the whole printer connection does not fix the problem.
Are there any deeper information how XML configuration is applied to the client?

Thanks

Markus
