Xerox 5665 color options not showing

Hello,

I'm facing a strange problem. we have  a xerox workcenter 5665 on our LAN. the printer is correctly installed and configured as a network printer. all the options works fine except:::

Some of the computers (2), when trying to print color does not show the option ( printer properties ::list box) to choose color.

This is happen just for few computers, I tried to delete/change the driver but the problem persist.

The printers are deployed by GPO to all the computers, I changed update by replace, after I delete the driver from the computers having problem. and restart the computers.  still the problem.

I'm looking for any idea or help?

Thank you

You know its a monochrome printer right?

You are either listing the model incorrectly here or all but 2 of your computers have an issue.

Re: Xerox 5665 color options not showing

Got a screensot of what it shows for those users in the Image Options tab?

Any chance the printer Properties are using Color Access Control? If that is the issue simply logging in to that PC as another user would make color choosable.

And if the GPD, make sure it selected the proper printer and not like you had typed, a 5665 driver for instance.

Re: Xerox 5665 color options not showing

Hi,

Thank you for your help.

The printer is correctly configured on the print server, I have a color mode option and I can print B/W and Color from the server and also

from some networked computers.

I have a problem with two computers, the color mode options does not show up. everytime I print from those two computers, its BW.

So, the problem is generalized, its just from two computers.

Thank you

Re: Xerox 5665 color options not showing

MS has released the fix for a similar situation, try it.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2864755

Apply this hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3001232 then this one http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2896881

Even though the hotfix refers to a Windows Server 2008 R2 issue, the hotfix can also be applied to Windows 7-based computers that encounter this issue.

Often it will cause the driver to show as Generic.

And if you drill down on the client, instead of 30+ driver files, typically there will be only 3 on the affected PC.

Registry keys for the print drivers are missing. Check the registry in the following locations:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Drivers\Version-3\<Printer model>
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Drivers\Version-3\<Printer model>
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Drivers\Version-3\<Printer model>

The  registry values in these locations compared with a working computer, the data has been cleared for Dependent Files, and Help File.

You can correct the problem by exporting the selected branches listed above from a working computer, and importing them into the affected one, then reboot the system.  After the reboot the driver will function normally
