Re: Xerox 5755 staples every job

The default printer properites are set to "none" under stapling, and individual print jobs are also set to "none" under stapling. The printer ignores this and chooses to staple regardless ot the settings. The most recent repair person claimeed it was a problem with our network, which I interpreted as "I don't know how to fix the problem, so I will blame it on someone else". I can understand how defective hardware or a miswritten printer driver could cause this problem, but I am skeptical that gremlins in our network are sending stapling instructions.

Re: Xerox 5755 staples every job

Hey, you!

Ofc you can turn off stapling, you probably have to turn it off in the default settings.

Try turning stapling off in Properties -> Advanced -> Printing defaults, and see if that helps.

Other than that you can also try turning bi-directional communication off.

Best Regards

Xerox 5755 staples every job

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

We have a Xerox 5755 that staples every multi-page job sent to it (at least from Microsoft Word). It does not matter if stapling is selected in printing preferences or not. This means that we have to remove staples from lots of jobs that were not intended to be stapled. A repairman was just in to work on the copier after the stapler stopped working, and he insisted that it was not possible to turn the stapling off. This seems nuts, and is not the way the machine worked when we first got it. How can we fix this problem?
