Re: Xerox 7220 CUPS Color

I just installed the Windows ppd and printed 13*19 full color photos.

On Windows , download and run this, then just close the "Printer Wizard"

Now browse to C:\Xerox\WC72XX_5.351.8.0_PS_32_Driver.inf and grab x2DJAV.ppd (Or the x64)

Install that on any port at all and you should have full features with exception to Accounting and Secure Print.

Does yours show this here?

I try with "Generic" and prints only in Black.

Re: Xerox 7220 CUPS Color

Download the Windows XP driver and extract the PPD in windows, take that to the Ubuntu and install via CUPS.

It can also be done with the "Generic PPD" but I find the XP driver ppd is more functional.

There are a few limitations though. Last time I did this it did not give me the option to choose the correct finisher, so it made them all available, which means when printing there were too many options so if I chose something the printer did not have (4 hole punch) it would fault the job. It would be possible to eliminate those options by modifying the ppd, but that is beyond my skillset.

Secure Print and Accounting will not work using any method in any Linux afaik.

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi,

How to configure a Linux Print Server (Linux Ubuntu Server with CUPS) to print in color in Linux?

I can use PS and all network printting (LPD, IPP, SMB, ex).

Thanks.
