Re: Xerox 7225 Document Feeder Issue

Gabi,

I inspected this area and do not see any breaks (other than some dirt). It looks like both counter balancers are working well also.

Here is a photo of the area.

Thanks!

Re: Xerox 7225 Document Feeder Issue

Hi,

Most possible the DADF base frame (part no. 801K42335) to be broken at the left counter balance, so maybe you need to replace it. If you press on the left back corner at the DADF it works?

Xerox 7225 Document Feeder Issue

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
Operating System: Windows 10

Hello,

I have a Xerox 7225 WorkCentre that is amazing, and has been such a great machine. But recently it has been suffering an issue with its automatic document feeder. I have searched the fourms and online for a solution but cannot find the same symptoms. That being said, if this is a super easy fix I apologize in advance for the dumb question!

When I place paper into the document feeder it gives the error message:

Not Ready

Remove documents from the Document Feeder Input Tray or close the Document Feeder

Choose Document Feeder or Document Glass

  • To scan from the Document Glass, remove documents in the Document Feeder Input Tray.
  • To Use the Document Feeder to scan your documents, lower the Document Feeder.

The machine scans find with the glass. But anytime you place paper into the Document Feeder, it fails.

I have done the following to troubleshoot this issue:

  • Opened and cleaned the Document Feeder rollers and removed dust from all the parts/areas I can see.
  • Tested the hinge switch and it seems to be working.
  • The rollers are in great shape.
  • The condition of all the parts look good.
  • Power up restart a few times.

This issue happened briefly last year, and I was able to give it a bandaid by doing a power up restart. But that does't seem to be cutting it this time.

At this point, I am hoping to gain some insights here before I attempt any more things to fix it. If it's a roller issue or some switch connection, I would love to know.

Thanks everybody!
