Re: Xerox 7428 prints on back side and up side down

Hi wps61,

If I understand correctly, one computer is printing onto the preprinted paper correctly when the paper is loaded as shown on the sticker but another computer is printing incorrectly.  If this is what you are saying then the computer that is printing incorrectly has something set incorrectly in the driver properties.  I would suggest comparing the properties of the drivers on the two different PCs and see what is different.  Here is the solution for loading the paper, please check the notes for information on preprinted paper.

Thanks,

" The way the paper is loaded is a function of the paper path in the machine and does not impact the driver."

It cannot be correct if I need to place the paper in the tray differently than the sticker on the tray is showing. In this case it means that either the sticker is incorrect, or the printer is not processing the paper as it should. I have added an image to show where the sticker says the upper left corner should be placed, and how we have to put it in now to print properly on 1 machine.

If I print from another computer, and the paper is loaded like this, the print will be on the preprinted side at the bottom.

As said, our support centre is clueless to this problem, hence I turned here. :(

Re: Xerox 7428 prints on back side and up side down

Hi wps61,

I am glad that flipping and rotating the paper works.  I am not sure what you mean by that affecting the driver.  The way the paper is loaded is a function of the paper path in the machine and does not impact the driver.  If you still have concerns please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Re: Xerox 7428 prints on back side and up side down

If I flip and turn the paper over in the tray, it will print correctly. But I do not find that a satisfactory solution. In fact, it is not a solution in my opinion as it can lead to other problems in future. (like being forced to use different printer drivers, say due to a 64 bits and 32 bits OS).

We have purchased our Xerox machines through a local Xerox dealer, but they do not seem to have the knowledge to solve this, hence my message here.

Wim

Re: Xerox 7428 prints on back side and up side down

Hi wps61.

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Have you tried flipping the paper over and turning it 180 degrees in the paper tray?  It may have something to do with how the paper is loaded in the tray.  Try flipping and rotating the paper in the tray and see if it will print correctly.  If not please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Thanks,

Xerox 7428 prints on back side and up side down

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

In tray 2 of our 7428 I have placed green pre printed paper. On the machine I have set this tray as green preprinted. (later on only as green paper).

If I sent a job to the printer telling to go to tray 2 (set the default and preferred settings of the printer driver as having to print to tray 2 on green paper), however it comes out on the wrong side, and turned 180 degrees. (thus top is at the bottom)

Tried to alter printer driver settings, aswell as settings on the printer, Different driver versions, but none seem to solve this behaviour.

To be sure nothing was interfering I also tested with a clean installation with the latest drivers (from aug. 2012) to see if I could get it to work. But no luck there either.

We print from a web based application that uses a Java applet to handle the job.

OS = Win 7 64 bits.

Printing used to go smoothly when they had WinXP and were printing on a old Canon printer. Since the printer was not supported in Win7 64bits, I figured to be smart and save money for a new printer by printing on the Xerox. So far it's not working out as planned. :P

Since our supplier does not seem to have any idea what is wrong, I was hoping somebody here may have an idea on how to solve this.

Regards,

Wim
