When a booklet is sent to the printer and setup to be folded in the professional finisher the job is automatically deleted by the printer. Any ideas as to what is causing this issue?
Hi there,
You'll need to give us some more details on the document you're trying to get printed through your finisher:
1. Type of the paper you are using (weight and setup of the paper tray).
2. How many pages are you trying to fold?
3. Is your paper tray set on landscape (should be).
4. What is your doc type (software used)?
We are currently printing a 5.5 x 8.5 booklet. We are using 8.5 x 11 plain paper setup to print landscape in tray 2. We have printed succesfully many times in the past but this is a new development. We have tried Acrobat, Word, Indesign, and Publisher on a mac and pc via ethernet and usb. We have tried the global print driver and the postscript driver but every time you tell it to fold a booklet the printer deletes the job.
we have tried printing various page number but right it doesnt matter how many pages it won't fold any number.
Okay then. Can you access a fault code (in the details of the print job or in the fault history)? Smells like finisher issue.
We have look it gives no fault codes and everything else on the finisher works. It will staple and hole punch but not fold.
Strange, the deleted doc should be in the Completed jobs queue with some error message / code associated. Anyway, the booklet maker is a separated module within the finisher which is not involved in hole punch / simple stapling. Try to check if there is not something wrong in that area (around R2 and R3 staple cartridges) - you can pull it out. Unplug the finisher cables during the check.
We already inspected the folder and everthing look good.
I can also see the deleted jobs under completed jobs but no fault code is associated with them.
So it's flagged as completed?
