Xerox 7800DN NOT printing from Quark 2016

I'm using the And the Apple/Xerox Universal 3.81.1 and it is printing fine now.

I'm going to post this in the Quark forum to help others with this problem.

Would have been nice to know what other application they found issues with since Xerox doesn't know of them, it certainly isn't any of the ones we support daily (Adobe CC and CC, MS Office, web browsers Safari, Chrome, Firefox,Mac Sandbox apps etc)

This is what Quark is recomending we try. 

As we test new drivers at Quark, there seem to be issue with the Xerox drivers version 3.113.0. if you revert to drivers version 3.90.0 or earlier it works fine. We have tested with other applications and found the same issue and not unique to QuarkXPress 2016. 
If you are still facing this issue, please try reverting to older version of drivers.

What is the best way to uninstall?

We never had the old 3.90.0 driver - is ther a way to get this and test?

Due to the rarity of Quark, ther eis no chance I will be able to test it.

To get by long enough for the Quark people to help you , export the jobs as pdf since all the other apps are working. I'm fairly sure it will be a PPD thing, I just can't prove it or replicate it since I have no access to the software.

Thank you for the info. I tried it but its still NOT printing. 

Other Apps print to the 7800, but Quark 2016 does not.

We have 8 more new macs coming soon - not sure what to do.

Looking for printer is typical of issues with mDNS and or IPP.

I would install the printer driver again but instead of picking it from the list of available printers, install with HP Jet Direct.

Joe - thank you for your responce. I'll be testing other programs today to see if they print. Quark is our main app.

I'll try a move my question to the appropreate Quark forum.

I can add this to the discussion. When printing from Quark 2016 the print queue says the following:

"looking for printer" the "incoming" then it never prints. No printing error, nothing. I stays in that mode forever stuck on "incoming"

Applications don't decide what makes it, the driver does, so if Quark won't send but Acrobat and everything else will, the printer and driver are not the problem.

Now if it leaves the Mac and faults at the machine, then it could be many things, we would need the fault that displays in the completed job after it fails on the printer to diagnose what Quark is doing to the job that other applications are not. Which always was an issue because Quark used PPD's independently of the printer you print to (Pretty much a Quark and Indesign thing only)

Having not seen an install of Quark since version 10 I don't have any idea how you will resolve a ppd issue, up until Quark 9 there was a PPD Manager in the Tools menu, they removed that in 10 and it would use the associated PPD within HARD DRIVE > Library > Printers > PPDs > Content > Resources > en.lproj assuming it was there, and if it wasn't you would have to put the PPD there and reboot the Mac.

As for your post in the Quark General forum, you may want to re-post in the Printing/PDF Export forum instead since it is an output issue, if you can't get the matter resolved you may need to export to pdf to print the job anyway since that will no doubt work.

And of course make sure you actually are using a Xerox driver and not some Generic Apple driver

Just got a new iMac . 

Mac OSX 10.12.3

Quark 2016 (12.2.1)

Xerox Driver 3.113.0

Can't get anything to print to the networked Xerox 7800DN from Quark 2016.

Worked fine with the old mac that replaced. Older OSX and older Quark Ver. 9.

Any help is appreciated!
