Re: Xerox 7835 - Staples & Timestamps?

Jump to solution
HAH! Consider this thread closed...

Right Click Printer --> Printing Preferences --> Document Options --> Watermark --> Watermark (Custom) / Text to Timestamp / Date and Time to just Date

Lighten the gray to be almost inconspicuous, and BAM! Solved.

Thanks to anyone who was trying to help!
Hopefully this can help others as well!

Problem 1 down.
Printer Properties --> Advanced --> Driver
When the second one installs, it takes the path of least resistance and installs the simple but effective driver. Here I can force it to use the more advanced one. Problem solved.

Still need to figure out the timestamp though. Ugh.

Xerox 7835 - Staples & Timestamps?

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Good day, all!

I am hoping someone might have a better clue than I, so here I ask.

There are two things I'm hoping to achieve with this device, that continue to elude me.

1) We have two of these on our network. Installing the drivers, we are able to do a full preferences suite installation for only one of the two printers. The problem is, we need them both able to perform the staple function. When I do a fresh install, using the same driver for both, only the first printer allows selection of the two driver forms, and allows printing with staples enabled. Whichever one I set up second, refuses to give me the type-choice, and will not allow me to enable staples. How can I force the second one to allow it as well? (or force the installation to give the two choices as with the first)

2) I've recently had a demand for which I am at a total loss. I'm not even sure it can be done.
I was told: "Make it so their documents are printed with a timestamp." This has had me twitching.

Is there a way to make it add a timestamp to every document printed from a specific computer?

As far as I can tell through the menus, and a little google-fu (probably weak), I've found none-such.

I'm hoping at least one of these things are possible, and that someone here might know how.

So many things sound far easier than then end up being - and many will never realize that. Heh.
