There is a paper present sensor inside the paper exit area.  I have determined that this sensor isn't swinging out as far as it should.  The spring that pulls it doesn't seem to be strong enough.  I've "cleared" the jam by stuffing a peice of paper towel behind the sendor/lever and the printer thinks the jam is gone.

Can I get replacement strings for the two springs that are in the paper sensor?  Is there any other way to fix this?  2 little springs and my whole printer is worthless.
