Re: Xerox Accxes Client Tools

Marc,

Did you try the special instructions for Vista/Win7. You can find the documentation on our website at the following link.

http://www.support.xerox.com/support/xerox-6279/downloads/enus.html?operatingSystem=win7x64&fileLang...

Hope this helps, if not I'd suggest calling the support hotline and talking to a support specialist.

Re: Xerox Accxes Client Tools

Hi,  I have a Win 7 (64 bit) pc that I am trying to install ACT 14.1.12 on (I downloaded it from the link above listed in this thread).  when I try to run the exe. I get a "choose a different location for this installation" error (or words to that effect).  I have tried installing both as a local pc admin and a domain admin, with the same results.  Any thoughts?   thanks.

Gary,

If this used to work and no longer does, please contact the Xerox support helpdesk.  They'll connect you to a specialist for this product.

Re: Xerox Accxes Client Tools

I've downloaded and installed  the referenced (windows 7 version) Accxess Client Access Tools. I've successfully added the Xerox 510 Wide Format Copy System in Device Manager, by IP address, and set as default scanner and printer.

However, when I go to the Document Retrieve tab (after scanning document or documents at the scanner), I just get the message "No Scanned Images"....

What's next to solve this issue.  I have previously configured Windows XP machines that can no longer retrieve scanned files either.  Also, I am perfectly happy with the idea of setting up an SMB or other server share to which to scan, but cannot locate the configuration location for this.

Help!

Jimmy,

I'm not sure off the top of my head.  I'd say contact Xerox support helpdesk and they should get you to a specialist who can walk through it with you.

Re: Xerox Accxes Client Tools

I have installed accxes 14 from the link below. Everything seems to print fine. I'm using it with autocad 2002. My only problem is this: I create plot files with autocad in a 24x36 format. When I go to accxes, I can load it up and print full sized sets without any problems but when I go to job options -->media tab-->media size--24" roll, then go to the 'Transform' tab -->Scaling-->, uncheck autorotate--> rotate 90 deg, check 'line scale mode' box, hit 'ok', and try to print 18x24, it WILL NOT print it out that size. It continues to plot out 24x36. This is how I've always set up the plots for 18x24 in accxes 10 under windows xp but now I'm on windows 7. Is there a solution for this?

Re: Xerox Accxes Client Tools

Greetings from Toronto :)

With Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate, it's usually possibly to install applications designed for XP using the compatibility mode (right click properties on installer .msi). Note that print drivers won't have that option since they are dealing with the kernel.

Though this is not something that would be officially supported I believe, in a last ditch best effort context it may be worth a try.

Also, the same version of Windows 7 offer a virtual Windows XP from which you can install the software and then from your Windows 7 you could start it just like any other software.

Hopes this help,

Antoine
