Hi,
could someone help me how to configure my Xerox C60 to scan to pc (folder) ? It's been so long that I have been trying so many times to follow some tutorials on youtube but i always get stuck the part when is needed to create a template /address book because it have different options when i get inside the link server machine.
I could send screenshots step by step to see how i must do because i started working with the xerox machine only by a year, you may tell i'm a noob on this. I want to learn and avoid to scan to usb, since i can't use the Remote Scan or fiery templates...
Thanks,
Flip
Help? Someone?
Hi xXFlipPTXx,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please take a look at the online support article for scanning to PC. If the article does not help please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
Thanks Cheryl, but i've kinda gave up on this, tried to follow many tutorials, included this one...
After setting up the folder in the pc for the scans the big barrier is to config inside the menu using IP of the machine... My main confusing is the IP itself because i'm using Fiery connected to the machine Xerox, and the IP at the machine shows 100.100.100.1 instead of 192.168... so on.
I'll try with the RICOH, seems more easier.
Thanks,
Flip
P.S: At the Touch Screen doesn't show Scan To PC button, only "Scan To USB" or "Network Scanning"
I'm writing this from memory, so minor wording differences may exist, but I do this about 5x a week so I know the drill.
At the machine start by logging in as admin.
Press Machine Status
Select the Tools tab on the touchscreen
Select Screen/Button settings
Select #5 - Services Home and press Change Settings
Select Add, Select Scan To PC, Select Save
Close out of the menu, press the top right option until you can't anymore.
Press the Services Home button
Scan to PC should be available on the home screen.
I personally hide the scan to PC option on most installs because I'm more inclined to use Network Scanning instead for various reasons. Both options give you the same end result of a file in a destination though.
Note: If you want to change the settings for Scan To PC those are found in the tools menu under 'Scan Service Settings'. You can only have 1 default setting for all Scan To PC desintations. This is one of the reasons why I prefer Network Scanning with Templates because templates can have individual settings.
Many thanks, i will try to follow your steps you've mentioned, as soon i have a relax time in my work, it's been a lot of work lately. Seems easy to do.
By setting up the folder at the PC i followed this video from 0:47 to 4:16, can you tell me that's the correct way?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Hf0KLqYJO4
He uses the method address book as i can see... here's my confusing, i don't know what's the diference between address books, templates, and this method you've told me and which one is more easy to setup...
I will send you also some photos of the touchscreen menu in case of any doubt comes up.
I'll try maybe this Thursday or at least next week.
Thanks,
Flip
There will be some differences between that video and what you're doing because that video is for a Workcentre and you're working on a C60, but it's mostly the same. The key thing that might hang you up on a C60 is needing to enable SSL for HTTP in order to enter credentials when setting up the address book entry, which are entered on a secondary screen. When you click Details for the address book entry, where you enter the username for the scan destination, if you don't see a password field than you need to enable HTTPS. But that's a different topic. I'll explain what I see as the key differences between Scan To PC and Network Scanning, and how I would choose which I use.

I noticed that you said that you cannot use Fiery scan templates. That would be what I recommend as the easiest thing to do. Those templates show up under network scanning. They share the same downside with Scan to PC destinations in that they are all individual, so if you use a common account and the info changes you have to touch each one. As someone who had a manager agree to make me click on over 150 Fiery templates and paste in a password for a customer when they changed it, I know how annoying that can be.
Hello MRCAnalyst,
i'm starting to get know more of the machine and those you have mentioned the differences between them. Still have one more option to scan, "To email" :).
I guess i will follow the more easy method (i think), Scan To PC, instead for USB.
I've follow your method to active Scan to PC to be available on the home screen. I've removed some other icons that i don't use daily.
Heres the pics:
P.S.: Fiery didn't show up when i tooked the photos because i've restarted the machine.
From this point what do i have to do start to scan to PC, i know the first thing i need is to config a folder in the pc, that's why i've asked if that link youtube is the better way to make one. Or could you send me a youtube link whit better tutorial to config a folder to share.
Thanks,
Flip
Hi Flip,
The sharing part of the video seems fine. Assign full control rights to the account that you're using for scanning under both sharing and security for the folder and you shouldn't have any problems. Once you have your destination setup select 'Address Book' in the Scan to PC app to select your destination.
If you setup scan to email, and your email account requires a username and password, do so in IE. I've helped many IT professionals on this model of Xerox that did everything right, but they didn't setup scan to email using IE. In other browsers when you click Apply for the email settings it turns off the 'SMTP Auth' setting and your email configuration won't work. That is the only setting in the machine for which IE is required. Anything else can be configured with your preferred browser.
