As you can see from the image, my Color C60 is printing a faded line about 2/3 of the way down the page. Can anyone help me identify what is causing the issue? It has this streak across with ALL colors, and even grayscale.
In the second image you can see that it even leaves a different texture than the rest of the ink.
The drums were all changed over the past 3 weeks, other than the magenta drum. Is this an issue with the fuser?
It looks like there is a (or some) debris in the cyan developer housing. You will need a tech to eliminate debris or to replace the cyan developer material.
If it is on each color could be from IBT (image belt transfer). But to see if it is so, print seaparate pages on CMYK with 50% coverage.
I am having a similar issue. Recently purchased a Xerox C70. It was used with only 30-40k impressions. I was seeing some odd streaking at first and found the issue was debris on the IBT belt. Once that was cleaned, we began having another issue.
After about, maybe 500 impressions, we began seeing vertical white wobbly lines near the top and bottom of the page. The lines are fainter towards the middle. This only affects the cyan test print. All other colors come out with no lines.
I intend to change out the color drum. Wondering if it might also be the developer housing. Has anyone experienced similar output?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
The defect you have posted is unusual for this product.
If the other colors look fine, then you can swap the drums between cyan and magenta. See if the defect moves to magenta or remains with cyan. This would be the quickest way to determine if the defect is related to the drum. If the defect moves to magenta, the drum is suspect.
If the defect stays in cyan, then the three remaining items that would be suspect would be the cyan developer housing, the cyan 1st BTR (located in the IBT assy), or drive to the drum or dev housing..
You can also measure the distance between the defects to get an idea of the diameter of the component that is causing the issue (to determine diameter - divide the distance by pi 3.14)
Hello and thank you for your previous response :)
We replaced our developer housing and that fixed the problem. However, we recently put new black toner in our machine and received the error code 093-317 which I believe is the black toner dispenser.
I have attached an image of the result of our 100% black test pattern.
If anyone has any idea what might be causing this or how to fix, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Your picture is not available yet, so the following advice is based on the description of the issue as your wrote it.
Is the black toner port clogged? To see... pull out the drum drawer... on the front cover of that drawer there is a trap door that extends across all toner ports... slide this towards the front of the machine (towards you as you stand in front of the machine). If the port is clogged, it will be pretty obvious (you will see toner backup all the way to the top of the port).
If it's clogged, this is usually a symptom of a bigger issue (possibly a locked up developer housing). Since you are having dispense faults, the dispense motor may need to be replaced (95% of the time). It's fairly common for these motors to fail, but the failure is usually a symptom, not the problem. Replacing the entire dispenser would be best, of course. You can usually salvage the dispenser itself by cleaning it out and checking drives, etc for proper operation (manually turning it with motor removed). But this is not guaranteed. But... figure out what caused this snowball of issues before replacing any parts. Again, it's usually a locked up dev housing.
And if that's the case, let me know... I have a possible solution to prevent this in the future - Do you see developer/toner dumping near the front of the housing and down thru the IBT drawer, to the marking drawer, into the duplex drives, etc (front side of machine)?
Hello Andy, Thank you again for your reponse.
Recently, there has been black toner/dev dumping through the IBT belt into the drawer directly beneath the IBT - in the front left side of the machine (not an incredible amount - but did not happen until recently at all). We removed the dispenser and it did appear clogged. We cleaned the dispenser out and inspected the dispense motor. Plastic gears on the outside appeared to move without issue.
We also pulled out the black developer housing and manually rotated the gears without issue.
We have had an issue, since we purchased our C70, with Magenta spillage as well, however the magenta is spilling towards the back of the machine. It spills through the IBT and lands between the fuser and second transfer bias roller. Most stops there but it is certainly spilling into the duplex drive as well. We have pulled everything out and inspected the pipe assembly, where we believe the clog? is happening. We have tried to contact local technicians to replace our pipe assembly and have yet to find someone to do it and have been on the verge of attempting it ourselves.
Do you think the pipe assembly not draining the magenta may also be a cause for the black toner dispenser failing?
Once again, thank you for your time and responses. It is greatly appreciated.
