I have the same problem. If I set the cache timeout to 0, it works perfectly. If I use any other setting for cache timeout, the policy settings never apply.
Michael,
Were you ever able to get a response from Xerox on how to properly deploy this configuration file? I am currently in the same boat. I have contacted Xerox techinical support and they refrenced the documents listed above.
Would it be possible to reach out to Kathren Korsky, the USA based Xerox Program manager for the Global Print Driver? Even if only to have her point towards the appropriate documentation and/or experienced users of mass deployment of the X-GPD & registry changes.
thanks for that Cheryl, but these are the documents we based out deployment methodology on....
Has anyone (Customer IT management or Xerox Analyst) had experience with mass deployment of the X-GPD & associated registry changes?
Perhaps the X-GPD development team? (they updated the driver in January).
Hi Michael,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. There are a couple of PDFs that might help you the first is the Xerox Print Driver Platform document. THe second document that may address your registry issue is the Xerox XML Configuration Editor for Print Drivers. If these documents do not provide the information you need please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
Wondering if someone could please assist - we are attempting to deploy the Xerox Global Print Driver from our servers (no issues here), and deploy changes to each user's PC registry, to point to the central CommonConfiguration file.
Unfortunately, we are having issues duplicating the success of controlling local print driver configuration (the local XGPD has the configuration settings of the central file when the required registry changes are done manually), to doing the same with scripted registry changes (just doesn't change default settings at all).
Has anyone deployed the XGPD with configuration settings controlled by a central CommonConfiguration.xml file - across a large number of PCs? (enterprise scale).
We'd like to talk with someone to work out which minor step/s we are missing to get the XGPD with set configuration deployed across an Enterprise.....appears to be a missing requirement of the way the XGPD works that we are not aware of (the deployment methods are all very standard, by expert practicioners).
