Xerox Phaser 3010 Printing problem

Hello, 

 

I have just bought a Xerox Phaser 3010 and I have the following problem. Every time I print a document the red light starts flashing and the printer will refuse to print any other document. To continue printing I have to turn the printer off and then on again, but the problem persists after a printing job is complete.

 

I am using windows 8 and I have tried both the driver provided on the original Xerox CD and the Windows 8 driver present on the Xerox Support Website.

 

Edit : So i've uninstalled everything and downloaded the whole Win8 Installation CD from the Site. The error that occurs is : the actual paper size in tray and the specified paper size are different  024-958

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

What size do you use?

Change the settings on the tray to the correct size and also change this in the printer driver.

I had the same problem and solved it:
1. open Devices and Printers
2. right click on the Xerox printer
3. choose Printing preferences
4. set Paper Size to A4 (was Letter in my case)

I think, this is fault of Xerox driver - after printer installation, it shows A4 in printing dialogue, but Letter in Printing preferences.

I have the Xerox Phaser 3010.  It will not print.  I tried it on a new macbook pro, an old macbook.  I even tried it on a windows operating system.  Unfortunately, it doesn't work no matter what I try.  Any suggestions?

How is your printer connected to ur pc?

What have you tried when it comes to troubleshooting?

Sounds like a connectivity issue.... can you print an internal page on the printer?

I had the same problem. My solution was this:

 

1. control panel

2. devices and printers

3. right click on xerox phaser and select printer properties

4. go to advanced tab

5. select "Print directly to the printer"

6. ok and close all open windows.

 

If this printer is shared it may mix documents but it won't give errors anymore.

 

While this sollution worked, i still get errors when the printer picks up 2 pages instead of one. This may ba a hardware issue but if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
