I just received this printer. The power button does not do anything. I plugged and unplugged power cord several times. After one of these times the panel lit up with the words PLEASE WAIT. After a few seconds a click noise was heard and the panel became unlit....you could still hear some fan(s) running. Again, the power switch does nothing so I unplug again and after several more attempts the panel stays lit, goes through the brief setup and I print a test page. I began printing some postcards and foolishly? waited 2 minutes between printing. The printer went to sleep and won't wake up. In control panel it will say that the printer is offline. This is just one of several issues with this new printer. Anyone have some ideas on what is happening? Thanks.
Never mind. I am boxing it back up and returning it.
Hi Kleankutken,
Thank you for using the Support Forum and I apologize for the frustration you are experincing because of the printer. Since it is brand new requesting a replacement may be the best bet. But make sure that you are plugging the machine into a dedicated outlet, no power strip or surge protector. If it still fails please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
This is interesting. I haven't had any issues with the Phaser 6510 and it normally gives good experiences. A replacement should work fine for you.
The defective printer was picked up today and another defective printer was delivered in its place. At least this printer will turn on and off when it is supposed to. But that is as far as it goes. The printer does not know what tray it wants to print from. This one is going back also.
I have the similar problem. And the worst is the printer died after 2 months usage. contacting to support trying to have it fixed.
My Phaser 6510 keeps saying "offline" whenever I try to print. It is most frustrating when downstairs reps try to print to the printer, which is upstairs, and they have to run upstairs to try to get the printer to work. When I run the troubleshooter, the problem comes back, " turn printer on" but the printer is on already.
How do I fix this???? The printer is only a few months old and already I think I need to replace it.
Hi,
Most of the issues with non printing jobs and „Offline” messages are from driver settings.
First check to see if there is no job in the print queue (delete any job if exist).
Check the port to be on TCP/IP and not WSD. MS convert the port to WSD. If it is so, click right on the print driver and click on „Printer Properties”, click on „Ports” tab, click on „Add port”, select „Standard TCP/IP port” , click on „New port” and set an IP and in the next window click „Finish”.
After that click again on ''Ports'' tab click on "Configure port" and change from RAW to LPR, at the Queue name write "lp" and be sure to unchecked "LPR Byte Counting Enable" and "SNMP Status Enabled".
