Re: Xerox Phaser 7500 Print Quality Issues (streaks) See Photo

When you see the developer roller toner, your HVPS has failed and the drum does not load, or the laser isn't switched on or is blocked. The problem is the most likely problem Move it from another device to a new or known working magenta to ensure that we have isolated that issue. Cover the contacts on the cartouche with electric tape when this does not help, and reinstall the cartouche. If HVPS is still working, a solid magenta "snake skin" should be written over the tab. The laser is either off or blocked when it makes a snake skin click, but does not yet lay magenta during regular service. You can attempt to open a laser shutter and shine on a lamp to see if you can see something. Make sure the shutter lever has not bent or broken anything when you do this.

Hi Allan,

If the issue is on single color, your problem it could be from the LED PRINT HEAD or from the developer housing.

Re: Xerox Phaser 7500 Print Quality Issues (streaks) See Photo

Thank you CherylO !

Following the steps:

1. Print the Troubleshooting Print Quality Page to Help Diagnose a Print Quality Problem

I did this first and followed instructions to remove streaks, which printed out blank pages

2. Clean Each of the Four LEDs

Yup! Did this several times.

3. Make Sure the Printer is Placed on a Flat, Hard, Level Surface

Using a level, the printer is flat.

4. Print a Multiple Page Job With Only Blank Sheets of Paper to Clean the Paper Path

Printed several blank sheets...

5. Remove Each Imaging Unit, Check for Damage, Re-install the Unit

Not sure what to look for here, but I switched around the imaging units, and nothing changes with the streaks.

That's all five suggestions, do I call customer support?

Thanks for your help!

Xerox Phaser 7500 Print Quality Issues (streaks) See Photo

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Our Phaser 7500 is printing streaks when toner is light (heavy toner doesn't seem to be an issue)

If we print a low percentage of black - IE: 5%-20% black AKA: Gray - we get streaks.See sample image.

I thought the issue was the imaging unit, so I swapped out the BLACK with each of the other units (putting CYAN in BLACK slot, then printing, doing the same with yellow and magenta).

The attached photo shows each of the imaging units in the BLACK slot, printing the same page which is 10% black.

The 'streaks' all appear in the same location regardless of the imaing unit.

NOTE: We used the cleaning rods on all four imaging units

NOTE: I also ran the "REMOVE PRINT SMEARS" option at the printer control panel.

Any suggestions or ideas are welcome. Thank you!
