Re: Xerox Phaser 7500 printing dots

These are the identifying dots that denote the time and date and serial of printer of printer, hidden to the eye with pale yellow or faint grey ink. Known as the xerox MIC pattern, machine identification pattern. One privacy group invested a program to remove them

Re: Xerox Phaser 7500 printing dots

Assuming it is a defect, the issue would be the Imaging unit.

But if it comes from the print stream you would need to troubleshoot, that, it could be an Adobe product at fault (Let Acrobat/Indesign determine color), it could be a transparency issue (Use PDF/x instead)

Xerox Phaser 7500 printing dots

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
Hi,

We are printing on a Xerox phaser 7500.

We are using this to print on full colour black on various card/paper.
Once printed the printed items are then passed under a hot foil machine which attaches metallic foil to the printed areas only (toner).
We are printed in full colour CMYK with all set to 100% (which we have to print at for the foil machine requirements)
When the printed items are passed under the foil machine, the foil is attaching to a full page of dots, which appear to be in a consistent pattern (a little like a dot matrix type of pattern).
This means that the printer is printing these dots on the paper/card.
The dots do not appear to the naked eye but are there as the foil will only attach itself to toner.
This started happening when we printed on glossy labels, but has now started happening on all cards/papers.
Can anyone help with how this can be resolved as we cannot have these dots appearing,

I have attached an image showing this pattern of dots.

Many thanks,

Simon.
