I'll do that - swap the units - and see if that reveals if that particular unit is the issue.

This can be caused by a some toner or dirt on the laser windows, so yes clean the cyan windows (http://www.support.xerox.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?St=140,E=0000000005065385303,K=3271,Sxi=9,Solut...

Also the imaging unit can be damaged. If this doesn't work you can try to swap two imaging units (swaping the units will shows us if the problem is the cyan unit).

BTW: Since you're being so kind to answer questions, we have a 'streak'/"line" running through CYAN.

When I print custom C M Y K sheets (100% coverage) I can see that it's the CYAN that's sreaking. A faint line, in the same place every time. I followed the instructions to clean the imaging units - using the cleaning rods, pull in and out four times but this does not help.

The next option on the troubleshooting page reads, "If the problem continues after cleaning the LED window, replace the imaging unit that corresponds to the color affected".

We're only at 61K prints. Is this usual? Is this something I can call XEROX to replace under warranty? Or is this part of the 'consumables' we should expect to fail?

You cannot damage the machine :)

I just adjusted the paper setting to HEAVY GLOSSY (which actually reads THICK GLOSSY but I'm assuming we're talking about the same thing)

No - there is no ink rubbing off. The sheet is just text. The black text looks great and does not rub off.

However, just for kicks, I kept the paper setting as THICK GLOSSY for our regular prints - the ones which rub off. This is 80T paper, so I never thought to adjust the paper settings to THICK GLOSSY, but it seems to have done the trick.

I just printed and there is no toner rubbing off!

Question: Am I causing any damage by adjusting the paper settings to THICK GLOSSY, even though I'm running 80T?

Set the paper to heavy glossy and try again. Are you printing from mac or windows?

No. Generally text does not rub off. Just large areas of color. As an example, if I were to print the rainbow apple logo (we don't print that, but just as an example) on  8.5 x 11 fit-to-sheet, the color bars would rub off.

Text, well, we just don't see text rubbing off.
