We have started having this issue with our 7760. It randomly appears to drop off the network. I will literally print a file to it, then 30minutes later when I try to print, I'll get an error saying the printer can't be found. Restarting the printer helps reset it, but the issue re-occurs.
If anyone has any further ideas on how to address this it would be most appreciated.
We are using the Xerox Phaser 7760GX PS 5050.300.0.0 and Xerox Phaser 7760DN PS 5050.300.0.0 driver. We also had to disable bidirectional setup in printer properties because it was sending false positive messages.
Ours is doing the exact same thing. Drops network after a few minutes
How do I tell if I have "global" drivers and where can I find the older ones?
Why would a printer driver on a PC cause it to drop off the network?
Yes we did. We removed all global drivers and found our old driver and reinstalled them. We haven't had the issue since then.
The printers are not under any contract and can't find anything in the solutions center. Any other ideas?
Hi JamesMurray,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please take a look at the solutions for the printer stopping with jobs in queue and see if any of the solutions help you. If not please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
We have about 20 Xerox Phaser 7760 printers that are all doing the same thing. We recently changed the drivers to the Xerox Global PS Print Driver on the print server. Now after about printing about 45 minutes to an hour, the queue locks up. If we delete all the jobs out of the queue we cannot use the printer. The only way to the printer to print again, we have to turn printer off for about 15 seconds and disconnect the network cable. Turn the printer back on and wait for it to say "Ready to Print". At that point we can plug the network cable back in and it prints the jobs from the queue. Then once again after printing for about 45 minutes to an hour, it locks up again. It happens to all the printers at different times throughout the day. It has been going on for about three weeks now. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
