hii buddy , there could be mutiple problems for these lines but one of the most common problem is with your drum cartridges.
please check that cartridges are problerly placed in drum or also try to remove clean and reinsert it carefully. Hopefully this simple tip will fix your problem.
Okay, it doesn't seem to be from the fuser. However, the defects in the fuser are manifested in all colors. Neither the low toner level can be in any case nor from electronic boards. It remains the IBT.
Hello,
Thank you for your answer!
But I just thought if such a banding problem comes from fuser unit then all colours must be affected and for the the same place?
Black colour is almost okay. When you look my attached print samples then you can see that only three colours are affected and each of them have vertical banding line on a different position!
So I guess that it can`t be a fuser ...
I examined the fuser rollers surface very carefully, cleaned it with spirit and I did not see there anything suspisios.
CMY toners levels are quite low, can it cause these print quality problems?
Does some electronics plates may cause such a print quality issues?
Thank you again!
Best wishes,
Taivo
Hi Taivo,
95mm banding could be also from the fuser.
Hello,
Small update:
Yesterday I first installed a new yellow OPC drum unit from Phaser 7500 (I changed the gray plastic front cover and the chip itself) and the Phaser 7800 accepted it. Then I printerd test sheets but I did not see any changes about print quality.
Then I replaced magenta and cyan drum units and when I plug in the machine I`v got an error message 361.372.03 during boot up.
I take out the new cyan drum unit (the drum surface was fully coverd with cyan toner pulver) and put back the old cyan drum unit and the printer works again. Does it means that the new cyan drum unit is somehow deffective?
Even I changed two drum units the print quality problem is still there, no changes at all!
All three (CMY) colours have the same print quality issues and the strips interval are also the same. Visible stripe, less visible stripe, visible stripe, less visible stripe and so on. Print deffect strips interval are about 47-48mm. Distace between similar visible stripes are 95 mm.
I have not cleaned the transfer belt surface jet.
Thank you vey much!
Best regards,
Taivo
Hi again,
It is not recommended, but you can try to clean the belt surface with isopropyl alcohol. Use a dry soft cloth and try to not scratch the belt. But from yours print posted, that defect like staples, it means there are some debris inside the belt and it is not so easy to disassemble it.
Hello Gabi,
Thank you so much for your assistance!
I`ll try to install one new Phaser 7500 drum unit at once after I get the new Phaser 7800 chips. I hope it will works and print quality problem will be gone.
Yesterday I removed for the moment transfer roller and belt cleaner from my Phaser 7500DT and both fits on Phaser 7800 machine but the quality problems remains as I suspected.
I`ll try to remove the transfer belt from machine and clean it very softly. Can I use a bit alcohol with cotton swab to remove hardened toner from belt? I suspect there are some small hardened toner spots on the transfer belt surface.
Thank you again!
Best regards,
Taivo
Hi,
IBT assembly it is not the transfer belt cleaner, it is the transfer belt unit.
The Phaser 7500 drum is almost the same as for 7800, but with a minor differences, first is the drum chip and another the metal plate behind the gray drum cover (that one with the chip).
The transfer belt unit are the same, but belt cleaners are not the same (it don't fit). Transfer rollers and waste cartridges are also compatible.
Good luck!
Gabi
Hello Gabi,
Thank you so much for help!
IBT assy is a transfer belt cleaner right? I also cleaned it once but maybe it already a bit worn ...
As for drum units does Phaser 7500 drum unit fits for Phaser 7800 if I chance the drum chips? Both machine drum units looks visually very very similar and I have Phaser 7500DT printer plus some spare new drum units for it.
Does Xerox Phaser 7500 transfer belt plus belt cleaner fits for Phaser 7800 machine? For testing purpose I can borrow belt cleaner from Phaser 7500 printer.
Transfer roller is also the same for both machines as well toner waste cartridge?
Thank you very much!
Best wishes,
Taivo
