You have to replace it.

You can clean it with a soft rag (unsupported) assuming you can see the defect on the roller of the drum, do not in any way use a solvent of any kind.

It isn't likely to work though, typically this would imply physical damage.

Hi,

I did this along with the drum swap and the dots point to a drum defect. Can I try to clean this myself with xxx materials or buy a new part for 250 €?

I changed R2 with R4 and the dots turned Yellow so I suppose we found the culprit.

Can I clean the drum safely on some way? It still has 50%+ life left and don't think the bossman will be happy if I tell him I need a 250€ spare part..

Looks like a drum. Swap R2 and R3. If it changes to Magenta then you know its the drum.

Hi

Perform standard image quality fix for cyan dots issue.

  1. Press the [Machine Status] button on the Control Panel.
  2. Select the [Tools] tab on the Touch Screen.
  3. Select [Troubleshooting].
  4. Select [Support Pages].
  5. Select [Repeating Defects Page].
  6. Select [Print]. The repeating defects page will print with instructions for identifying defective units.
  7. Replace the items identified on the Repeating Defects Page to correct the problem.

Hi,

Your Xerox started adding small blue dots on colour prints. B/W works normally.

I tried to check the drums and cartridges but could not find any reasonable marks which would cause these.

The printer itself has some colour stains behind the frontal covers, but nothing I could see internally.

What is the best cause of action? Randomly replacing Cyan drum would seem like an option but not something I would like to order at start.
