Xerox WorkCenter and Windows 2008

In anticipation of decommissioning our W2K3 print server, we have set up the same Xerox printer queues on a Windows 2008 print server. So far, we have found that when sending a test page to WorkCentre printers, the test page prints, but we get a security alert due to a certificate. When looking at the certificate the “Valid from/to”  dates in the certificate information are 7/25/2011 to 11/2/1902. Where is this certificate coming from? This issue does not exist on the W2K3 server we plan to decommission. Any help will be appreciated as we are being pressured to decommission the W2K3 server.

Thank you

Re: Xerox WorkCenter and Windows 2008

what device are you using? also is ssl enabled on the machine? when you have created a certificate, try recreating a certificate lower then 5000 days, thats a know xerox bug and has been resolved in the latest spar firmwares

when that doesnt help, try disabling bidirectional and job notitication in the options of the driver

Re: Xerox WorkCenter and Windows 2008

If you are using a self-signed certificate, the server doesn't automatically trust it event though the dates are valid.  If you aren't using it, disable SNMP v3 on the WorkCentre and the certificate check will go away.  This will let you still use the bidrectional and status checking ability.
