I am trying to use the scan function on this unit, but I am unable to do so because the imaging unit needs to be replaced. Issue is, we don't need to print, just scan. So we don't want to spend $300+ on an imaging unit that we don't need.
Is there any way to bypass the "Replace imaging unit" message and scan to email (or network, or USB, or anything at all)?
Hi,
The imaging unit are the drum units that forms the image printed on the paper, so just ignore the message and you can scan without problem.

Maybe I'm blind, but the problem I'm having is that this error comes up when the unit starts and won't go away, so we cannot do anything with it there. I have tried resetting the unit, full powercycle, taking out the parts and putting them back in... and no matter what I do, the error message "Replace imaging unit" comes up when we start it, and nothing I do can clear it to get it to the scan function.
Ok Sorry! In this case yoy realy need to replace the scanner. It cannot be repaired.
