Re: Xerox WorkCentre 7425 leaving smudges

Hi Kimzi, thank you for your reply. The marks normally appear every 3.15 inches. Sometimes it is worse, sometimes better, but always apparent. I have attached another sample, perhaps it will give a better idea of what is happening.

We was unable to stop the printing at exactly the right moment to see when these lines appear.

We checked the fuser and it looks fine. We have noticed some similar magenta-type spots on the transfer belt/ roller when opening the side cover.

Re: Xerox WorkCentre 7425 leaving smudges

Hi, Ts!

To me it looks like the lines are repeating every few inches, could you measure the distance?

I suggest having a look at the fuser to see if something is damaged.

what about stopping the printer in the middle of printing to see if the lines are there before entering the fuser?

Best Regards

Kimzi

Xerox WorkCentre 7425 leaving smudges

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I recently bought a used Xerox machine, barely used, only 45 prints were made. However upon receiving it, these marks appeared on the edge of the page. This happens during both copying and printing. Later on after some dotted smudges also started to appear towards the middle of the page.

When printing a series of blank pages, these marks tend to fade, but reappear again.

Any ideas what could be causing this?
