I actually took it from another product thinking they would be identical, because if it is made by the same company and uses the same designations they would be identical right?

Turns out they may not be. The Machine is made by Fuji-Xerox, Xerox just distributes them here in North America. I took the numbers from an XC560.

Due to your asking where you could find it documented, I went off Googling and grabbed this document from Fuji-Xerox that describes them, but different than they do now on more current devices. They break it down by types of stock, but still list generic wide range GSM values.

Instead of breaking down the names by weight they break it down with suggestions of what to use them for..Page 169 has them. But the Heavyweight S is not exactly explained ;-)

But where do common users find information you gave me about Heavyweight types? Is there a specific document or online page?

A,B,C and further weight classes, just more specific

So Heavyweight, is classed for a weight range of 106-176 GSM. Generically it should work for any common stock in that weight class.

But... There are stocks that need very specific settings, and for that you can break down the weights further.

So, for heavyweight you have.

Heavyweight = 106-176GSM

Heavyweight A = 106-128GSM

Heavyweight B = 129-150GSM

Heavyweight C = 151-176GSM.

There are stocks that will fuse at 120GSM, but have a coating that will melt at 160GSM.

Labels may not fuse until 130GSM, but will peel off and stick to the Fuser at 170GSM.

As for your transfer paper. Typically with the Xerox branded stock it would just use the Heavyweight designation.

But the rule of thumb would be as follows.

If the toner is unfused (Smears or rubs off) you increase the heat from the fuser (Set to a heavier weight)

Hi,

we're using a Xerox WC 7428 and trying to print on transfer paper trhough by-pass tray.

When we load paper and machine asks for paper type, we set Extra Heavyweight but when we print, toner doesn't apply to paper correctly... What we can do?

We also noticed that within Heavyweight or Extra Heavywweight options there are listed different types of paper like A, B, C, and so on...

What do they mean? Neither in user, administrator or any other manual it's explained nor in xerox online support.
