gkretsch, that statement is wrong. The font support in both drivers is great.
It was several years ago PS had better support than PCL.
I would consider Postscript if doing a lot of high end graphics and PCL for office work though.

Use the Xeox PS driver. Try steer away from PCL 6 or 6..not very good font support.
take a look at another barcode generator
hello, why not try this good barcode printer to help you solve your problems? hope it helps,
can changing another barcode printer or generator help?
Instead of printing barcodes, it prints the numbers? Strange!!! I have been creating barcodes in my work for years. But I never encounter such a issue. What do you mean by printing the numbers? The barcode can only encode numbers info? As I am not quite sure about this question, I suggest you read some professional barcode creation guide passages. They may be helpful.

Have you set the global driver to the correct printer?
You can change this in Properties -> Options -> Configuration.
If so, I suggest updating the driver or installing latest PCL/PCL6 driver for the 7556 instead.
Intelligent barcode printing – available with Xerox SAP PostScript and PCL Intelligent Barcode Solutions
This should work with PCL, as documented in the SAP enviroment overview.
PCL 6 = A dual interpreter consisting of PCL 5e or PCL 5c and PCL XL
Dont you actually need to have the correct "SAP Device Type" for the printer?
