In addition to your suggestion, I removed the waste channel from atop the transfer belt. It was held on by four small screws. It seemed clogged. I tapped out all of the toner and re-assembled. Looks good so far.
I had exactly the same problem, the belt still has 50% life left in it, so i was reluctant to replace it so soon at considerable cost, something to try before you replacing the transfer belt.
1) Remove the transfer belt from the machine.
2) Put some newspaper on a desk / table
3) Use a vacuum cleaner to clean along all the edges where the belt runs around the rollers (don’t touch the belt with fingers of vacuum hose).
4) Turn the belt on its side (with the white sprung loaded waste toner discharge pipe facing down) and tap gently on the desk. I had loads of waste toner fall out hence the newspaper.
5) There is a sprung loaded sleeve on the waster toner discharge tube, gently slide this back and suck out all the contents, repeat tapping on the desk then sucking the contents out, winding the belt and full revolution and tapping released more toner. Keep doing this until no more toner comes out.
6) Refit into the machine and all sorted. Cheaper than replacing the belt before it is due.
This worked for me, worth a try before purchasing a new belt, i think the waster toner tube gets clogged up with toner and can’t discharge it into the waste toner box. The streaks started to happened a few months before the waste toner box needed replacing, so maybe the overfilled toner box caused the blockage.
We have been running a few weeks now streak free.
Hope this helps.

I have replaced the transfer unit (bought is for cheap but it's very expensive!) and the problems were gone.
Hello, I almost got the same problem. The funny thing is when i print 2 sided, the front page is very clean and the back page is like the preview above but a few tints lighter. Also, my printer only have 24k prints on the counter. I have read that the tranferunit kit should be usefull for 100k prints. I did the maintance like it's presented on the manual but the vertical stipes are still visible, also with some little specs. Can someone please help me out?
I checked the Transfer Belt and there were toner marks of al colors running in a band similar to what was showing on all printouts. I purchased a Transfer Unit Kit and replaced all of the parts included (Transfer Belt, Transfer Roller and the other roller for paper) in the kit. This seemed to fix the issue, all printouts since have been clean and clear.
Thanks very much for the help.
On a side note, I'd appreciate if Xerox would sell these parts individually in stead of forcing customers to pay for all three pieces when only one piece may be at fault. It is expensive and less friendly to the environment.
Thanks again!
While they are nowhere near needing to be replaced due to expected life readings, that is not to say they don't have damage, the printer can't account for damage or contamination (Spilled toner).
I assume you have inspected the imaging unit when you had it out for the LED clean, and it would likely only affect one color, not all.
So the fuser and belt are likely.
Since you don't mention that they ink smears or flakes anywhere, I would assume the fuser is fine, but take it out and have a look at the roller for a mark near the middle running around the circumference of it, or all the way up one length of it (depends on the feed direction).
The belt/belt cleaner is probably the culprit, i either case, you will visually see the issue on the belt for certain, if it is the cause.
I can't imagine how a waste toner could do any such thing.
Hello, we've had this printer since March 2016 and it has worked well for some time. In the last few weeks, most, if not all, printouts have vertical streaks of all colors (black, cyan, magenta and yellow) that are typically applied to the middle of the page being printed (8.5" x 11"). The darkness of the streaks varies and is persistently applied, although not as often as the middle, to other areas on the page being printed.
This issue occurs whether scanning, copying or printing from any source. I have cleaned the Document Glass and the Document Cover and have thoroughly inspected the Automatic Document Feeder to determine that the Scanning/Copying Mechanisms are not the source of the problem. I have also cleaned all four of the Laser Lenses multiple times using the Cleaning Rod stored inside the printer. I have not had any user reports of messages indicating replacement of parts being necessary, although it may be possible that these were ignored and unreported--I will list the Maintenance Items information from the Web Interface of the printer below:
Does this information indicate that a specific item should be replaced at this time? Please advise.
I have attached an example of the vertical streaks down the middle of a print-out, apologies for the heavy redaction of sensitive information, the streaks are still well represented:
How can I fix this problem? Please let me know if I need to provide any more information, thank you.
