The one listed is fine, not like a print job will be sent faster than that anyway.
I'll try that next time the website decides to work. Hopefully it'll work long enough for me to get to those options. Can you recommend a low NIC speed to try?
Thanks!
Try setting the NIC speed to something low, and not auto, just to see as a first step via CWIS > Properties > Connectivity > Physical Connections > Ethernet
Another thing to give a try to is to do an image overwrite via CWIS > Properties > Security > Hard Disk Overwrite > Immediate Image Overwrite which may do something to resolve it and can't hurt anything if it doesn't.
Last thing I can think is to verify that if you have people using Mailbox Scanning that they are not leaving jobs on the device forever, as it eventually fills the drive to a point it starts doing odd things. (Total drive partition is 3.7GB)
My company has a WorkCentre 7335 and a WorkCentre 5225.
Two weeks ago the 7335 started disappearing and reappearing on the network. We updated drivers, tried to remove and re-add the printer, all the basic repair options... and it still randomly becomes inaccesible.
I don't mean that the printer physically turns itself off to conserve power - it just completely drops off. Nobody can access it. The printer can still be pinged (although the ping is often well over 150 ms), but it cannoted be accessed by typing it's IP into a browser, and nobody can print to it. Then it may appear again, or appear so briefly that only part of the Internet Services page can load in the browser before it fails... leaving a pile of broken links are partially loaded images. It's like the printer's NIC card just stops sending packets.
I called our service repairman, and he tried a host of solutions. In the end he decided that since he can connect directly to the WorkCenter 7335 with a crossover cable, the problem must be on our network.
Our network is fairly simple. We have a couple patch panels, a modem from our Internet provider, a SonicWall firewall, and an old switch. I replaced the old switch, no change. I thought it may be a cable problem, so I replaced the cable. No change. I thought maybe something was wrong with the wall connector, or inside the wall, so I took a long cable and connected the WorkCenter 7335 to a completely different wall panel. No change.
At this point I've tried every different network/software solution I can think of, and the only thing that makes any sense to me is that the printer itself is faulty. I haven't made any network changes in the last two weeks. One day the printer worked - the next it didn't.
Through all of this the WorkCenter 5225 hasn't had a single problem.
Does anyone have any ideas what's going on? Do any of these symptoms sound familiar?
Thanks!
