Depending on how dark, it could be that the display itself shows the image a little lighter.
If not, you could try doing a "Calibration print job 1 + 2"..
And if you use Phostscript you can also increase this in the driver settings depending on the Operating system you use.

You did not state which driver you are using but I would suggest going into the Printing Properties and change the Print Quality to high resolution or high quality and see if that makes any difference for your prints. If not then please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
We have a Xerox Workcentre 7346 at my office. I'm trying to print photos which look good on my laptop monitor and my iPhone 4S, but the printed images are coming out much too dark and saturated. I regularly have this issue when printing photos. I am hoping there is a way to lighten the printer settings rather than have to modify each image individually.
