Let's go ahead and blame this one on the people who make the user interface.
There are 2 C5 envelopes that are near identical, you just happened to pick the wrong one, and they are at fault because if the little envelope picture changed to show an envelope as landscape, it would not match what is in your tray. (You picked the left, you needed the right)
And thanks much for the Remote Control Panel screenshots, made this one go way better than it otherwise would have.
Stuff like this just makes me make this sort of face.

I am attempting to print a C5 envelope within my Work Centre 7830 using Tray 5 (Bypass) as advised.
I insert the envelope flap side up as directed within the instructions found here: http://www.support.xerox.com/go/go.asp?Xlang=en_US&prodID=WC780X&objID=14730&source=SEM and the printer asks to confirm everything is set correctly as follows (it automaticaly detects the settings below):
However, when I attempt to print the following is displayed once the job is submitted to the printer:
And below as you can see the envelopes are loaded correctly.
Any help or advice appreciated.
